My argon have now ran for about a hour on the lowest power i can turn it down to without the dot starting to flicker.

The tube voltage is 82-85V no matter the position of the pot, measured between the filament centertap and the anode wire in the psu end of the umbilical.
Time for an update.
I´ve started on the real psu now, this is the box it´ll live in:
I´m still waiting for parts tho, a new IGBT, relays, led´s and some boads to build the control circuit on.
