Pangolin QM32 software support

Hi there,
Does anyone here knows more about the way that LSD communicates with older QM32 card ?
Is there any command list available ? How does LSD communicate via ISA slot port ?

The reason I'm asking about this all is that I would like to make my QM32 Basic card run using Ars Technologies ISA2USB interface I recently bought.

I'm aware some driver may be needed to be written, but now I'm stuck due to lack of QM32 knowledge. Pangolin no longer supports them so SDK-level knowledge is no longer available from them.

Anyone got some exprience or files related ?

You can call it from VB or C, using the SDK, sample code is on the distro disk.

That is all I know. I'm still using one, so let me know what you find out.

As ISA motherboard are rare now, I'd love to know what you find.

As I too looked at USB2ISA from ARS, my understanding is it should be transparent with the code that comes with the ARS, did that not work?

Oh, distribution CD ! I didn't consider that source
I'll dig through it asap.

As for USB2ISA - well, being transparent was the best that could have happened. For now it seems not to be the case. U2I detects QM32 inserted, learns that it uses just 300h port. LD fails to detect Qm32 upon startup - QM32 did not respond to initial checkout.

So far, that's all I've learned. Will keep You posted.

I have one of these cards also but have not been able to get the USB to ISA converter to work. What I found out is that the software for the converter will only work on xp or vista and pangolin qm32 won't work on xp or vista so your stuck. What I am doing is saving up and just exchanging the cards for the new .net cards.... But it sux cause I have the old PRO cards and they only give you a credit of $500 from a card that was $9,995 new.... OUCH!!!! Penny's on the dollar....lol

Plus, never in history was Pangolin's LD/QM32 PRO system sold for $9,995 (at least not US Dollars). The highest our PRO system has ever sold for was $6995...

Yes, that's the one I was trying to run.
But due to failure (also under Win98SE), I sold the LD-QM32 set and a few most important laser FX items
Now I'm free to start building from scratch

Pangolin stuff seems to hold it's value pretty well. You don't often see them on eBay, and when you do, generally the price is close to our list price. I guess that's a good sign ...

ISA boards aren't as rare as one thinks.. just expensive. 2 cents. We get them with Intel Core 2 Duo's on them.
