A dell mini 9 running OS X... what a nifty idea. Any driver problems? I've been eyeballing those mini 9s for a few weeks now. What is your overall impression of them in terms of build and driver compatibility? Also, you don't happen to do lasers/visuals at a gathering in an arid location at the end of the summer with lots of things on fire?

I like my Mini 9 a lot, though it has a few niggling problems. Though I use it every day it averages one kernel panic a week, which is considerably more frequent than my real Macs. The build quality is great, though the trackpad isn't multitouch, and it is made of plastic not metal.

Drivers aren't a problem, and I have all the hardware working now. Check out the MyDellMini forums for info on how to do this stuff.

I have in the past done lasers and visuals at such an arid location, but this year I'm not going after a particularly nasty experience last year. I will, however, be playing out at several NorCal campouts... hit me up for details.
