Default Exporting AVI video greyed out

Hello. I am attempting to export my timeline as an AVI video, but the option is greyed out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We all know they are going to say "LaserBoy". I just wanted them to say it. ;-)

Nope! That's not what I was thinking at all.

One has to do a bit of looking to find that.

I just thought your question to the OP was a bit like asking someone who just bought his first computer at Best Buy "What OS are you using?"

I stumbled on the other duplicate post in the Review section. I just was trying to point out that it is tough to answer a question like that without actually telling us what software it pertains to. It very well could be Windows Movie Maker for all we know. And.. to ask the needed information. I

If you do something like posting questions without needed information on this forum enough then all you will get is silly answers or maybe none at all.

    Oops. Just unanswering the unanswerable.

Ok. Getting down to business. This is regarding LSX (Laser Show Express).

Is the show locked? As in you cannot modify or edit events on the timeline?

The only way I can get the Record to AVI to be greyed out is when I have a locked show loaded. I can load the show. Play the show. I cannot edit the show. Record to ILDA is also greyed out. The other way to have it greyed out is to be playing the show (stop the show in this case).

You might be able to use something like OBS Studio to record the preview window.

Try creating a short show (don't lock it). Save it. Right click on the timeline. Choose "Record Show to AVI".

Can't figure out how to create your own show?

    Download the attached one "Snowflakes".

OBS is a great idea! It's really fun to use too.
