    So who's gonna do the GB? *cough* Andy *cough*

    I reckon 1-2 should be sacrificed + pushed to their limits so people get an idea of power output, lifetime + rated current.

    Extraction seems to be not a big problem. It seems the diodes are not pressed in, just clamped between two metal plates which are screwed together. One just has to open some screws and desolder them from the broad cable. I already ordered such a beamer and can tell more once I have it. I might also have some diodes to sell then.

    *probably going to regret saying this*
    BUT if the interest is there, and we can scrape the cash together for ~20 I don't mind giving it a go.
    I'm sure during extraction, should it go ahead, I'm gonna age about 5 years...

    excellent.

    we need a good source for lens now. do we know if these are single mode or not?

    and a decent driver, the die4laser driver only goes up to 1amp.

    if they are not pressed dan i dont mind doing it.

    although im very experensed in pressed diodes in heat sinks (red project) its a right pain.

    Well if we can get x22 diode orders from people in UK or Europe together, then I could waz em for £35 inc. postage each?
    (2 for R&D testing )
