Default 2 Channel and 4 Channel Laser Diode Driver

    Hi guys,

is there some interest in dual and quad channel drivers? Both are based on my LDTEC driver LINK just without the TEC driver.
They will be available within 4 weeks or less.

As a well known driver here has become a nightmare I started to think about my own version of both drivers.
For this drivers a startup delay has been added.

The drivers will have connectors to the left and to the right (male and female). So they can be connected laterally and share the power supply input. By using four drivers you will save 3 power input cables and space inside the projector.
Different from the LDTEC driver there will be only one 10 pin connector for the dual or 2x 10 pin connector for the quad channel.

The price will be ~55€ for the dual channel and ~70€ for the quad channel version.

The prices above are based on a qty. of 250pcs. In case the interest rises above, the price may drop.

    Current: 2000mA each channel
    Power supply: 5-12VDC
    Modulation: >200kHz Analog / TTL
    Size: 40 x 50 mm (dual channel)
    Standby Beam Suppression: YES
    Startup delay: 2 sec
Separate modulation: Yes, for each channel

IŽd like to ask you to post here the channel version and the qty youŽre interested in. The final price will be calculated on the qty we all are interested in. Worst case is that the price remains the same as stated above.

Two dual + Two quad drives for me please.

    Great work Alex.
Could you mount the power transistor in such a way, bent by 90˚ so that it allows the PCB to be vertical while the FET is horizontal with the heatsink?

    Thanks.

    Hi Alex,

Can the outputs be added/averaged (maybe with 0.1 Ohm resistors between them)?

I'm interested in a reliable driver from 2Amps to 8Amps (or even more) ... and maybe in some bigger counts, when it works as expected ;-)

    Hi Daniel,

Yes, this time the MOSFETs will be mounted the usual way.

    Hi Viktor,

shoot me a pm with some more details, please. The driver can be modified for higher current. Depending on your needs it will end up in more or less work.
The MOSFET is able to put out 14 amps but the circuit needs to be modified a bit.

    Alex,
If I could chime in too... if it is a trivial task to increase the maximum current to >=2.5A, I would be very, very happy.
If not, I'll still take 2x2ch. and 2x4ch. at 2A.

    Ok, Daniel.

Not sure how difficult it will be to realize several mA to 4A or 8A. IŽll ask our electrical engineer.

Do you mean that the driver cuts the LD current when the set LD temp. exceeds?
