    Default LivePro meets Xbox 360

Through several cables, a roll or two of duck tape, a bit of jiggery pokery and a hamster driving a wheel, I managed to control LivePro solely from my xbox 360 controller this afternoon.

Initially it took me a while to get use to the buttons, due to the sheer depth available in LivePro, however the xbox 360 controller falls under the "nice but useless" category, and I only had a crack at it to see if it could be done.
It wouldn't be a patch on a proper midi controller...

I cobbled the following functions on to it:
cycle through effects, images, colour cycles, key effects, reset individual tracks, reset all, emission off, emission on, and scroll through pages.
With more time and a cup or two of tea, I reckon many more could be easily added.

If anyone would like to replicate this for themselves, I can extract the mappings and email them over.
(Photo's useless, as it's just a plain ol' xbox controller)

Currently running in wired mode, but I could fetch a wireless adapter and bring it down to the meet as another 'gizmo' if anyone wanted.

    Ta,
    Dan

You know you want to, don't you.
After all, who ya gonna impress at home? Ya mum?
Whereas at the next meet all the laser nerds can gather round and go "oooh....." and "Ahhhh......".

    Supey Dupey.
Naturally I won't be "ooohing" and Aaahing" with the hoi palloi but shall remain a polite distance away, tut-tuting at the childish behaviour.

But you will give me a go won't ya !

Another thing to look at is using a wii remote...just get a bluetooth dongle, sync it up, translate the motion to keystrokes, keystrokes to hot keys. I used this to control martin light jocky, kinda fun to dance around and control the lighting cues/effects
