Lookin good there, very nice work! I always love seeing peoples projectors come together, it motivates me to do some much needed work on mine

    Please keep us posted.

As for the red, I myself prefer 635 due to its brightness, but others like 650nm because its a nice deep red, compared to the light red 635nm

Wow - looks like your pop-rivet gun failed after just a few rivets! Hope it had a good warranty anyway...

The holes are even drilled out for the rivets, must have been a pretty piddly gun if it broke that quick

    Thumbs up Nice start!

Talk about "from scratch"... You are much more ambitious than I am. Good luck and keep the pictures coming.

I am a 660nm red man myself, but you got to have a lot of power to match a 635. Best reds I have seen are produced in home labs.

    Default which dt40's

which dt40's did you get small mirror or big ?
if you got the big mirror one's go for a lasever 635nm they have a nice bright 5x5mm beam and good divergence campaired to some,
i am very happy with mine they are also cheaper than others
and at 635 it will be more visable than a 650
