    Default Shutter Kit feeler

Hey Guys, I was kicking around the idea of making a few shutter kits. Since it would only be a very limited number of sets, the circuit board would be less than professional. If I were to have pad2pad print up a dozen boards it would just be way too much in my opinion. So the circuit is just on a little cut down proto-board. The only difference between what you see in the pic and what you'll receive is that the screw terminals will be labelled, somehow.

It's very easy to operate, +5VDC to one side of the screw terminals, and modulation signal to the other side. That's it! I like keeping the voltage low to a GM-20, makes it last longer, less current draw and it's just easier. At 5V on the coil, the end of the flag will be just enough to clear a beam. Nothing to adjust, just simple and straight forward, it's the same circuit that's been running in my projector for over 3 years now. A mount would not be included with the kit since each projector is going to be different, some may mount horizontal and others may mount vertical. So it's just the driver, GM-20 and a flag. All this for $85 plus shipping.

If there's enough interest, I'll make what I have, a very limited amount.

I guess I could also make just the bare circuit boards if anyone needs them for thier existing GM-20's. Maybe if there IS enough interest I can have a pro board printed.

    Well, let me know!

    Thanks!

I would probably be interested in an actual printed board (maybe even 2 of them), if you decide to have some made.

    Dave-

count me in for at least 2. I got some builds coming up that i think these would go good with.

I would be interested in one, plus maybe an additional driver board...

Interesting, thanks for the interest guys, just crunching some numbers in my head, I can probably have a batch of boards printed with parts installed for between $10 to $15 bucks each.

Anyone else interested in just the boards? I would really need to look at selling more than 20 to bring the per board price down.

Edit- Also, please note, this circuit is designed to cause the flag to move as little as possible, in the pics below, you can see the end of a 2" flag going from rest to full on with the 5VDC supply. There is no adjustment you can make to the circuit, having such a small travel allows it to be relatively fast. The printed circuit board will be about 1" square in size. Here are the specs for the current circuit:

5VDC supply, drawing 105mA when GM-20 is on,
Modulation input, works as TTL, 0V off, 5V on, current draw is .1mA

I'd buy one with GM20 if you have any
