That's about right, I laughted. Please see attached, as much of my work is now in a machine shop making one=offs to go with the machines I work on, I had a little help from AI, and it's not quite timed to "Rhinestone Cowboy" which inspired it..... O_o Steve

Hey, thanks for the kind words! :-) The ZIP with the Gerber files will come once I'm 100% sure they're clean. I'm currently having some issues getting the PCB itself right. I hope you checked the schematic before ordering. It's specifically designed around the Mikoy OEM stuff, so you'll probably...

Roast It? Naw. I'm going to build a few of them and populate the gaping hole in the back of some very old projectors with 12K and 20K Scanners. Boards ordered from JLCPCB I know programmers like to send the whole tool chain, but it might help if there is a complete ZIP in the repository of...

Holy Crap! Matt is back! :D Where have you been all this time, dude? Gotta love those old-school ions though - so long as the envelope is intact, they usually just fire right up. (Especially the smaller tubes.) Now you just need to drag out a PCAOM and a set of scanners... Adam

Here is a typical modern manual, and then I'll find you a schematic with notch filters in the feedback loop, may take a day to post it.

Usually these days an LM3886 is the output stage, I have no idea how the Scanlab photodiodes and led is set up, AGC is the LED circuit, you wont be able to implement the Coil Temp Calculator as the RC4200 is obsolete, The capacitor and resistor values may need to change, but here is a classic...

Hi, Thank you for your messages! I am looking into buying an existing driver and emailed Scanlab in the meantime. Part of the project is that I am trying to practice PCB design, so I would like to see if I can build the driver myself, but we will see :) Thanks Cas

Have you tried just asking ScanLab? They have discontinued their analog sensor based products and are very likely to just give a graduate student the data. I's good for business. The US office has been friendly to me on a work project. You're not some random hobbyist, you are a future...

You might want to try to find a matching scanlab driver... Designing and prototyping a driver from scratch for a one off project is a time trap.

Hi everyone, I'm an applied physics student from Delft and I bought two SCANLAB dynAXIS S scanners with original DA15F connectors on eBay for a lithography like tool I am testing for. I have the general dynAXIS datasheet (link below), but it doesn't show the connector pin assignments or the...

The AI is partially correct. First, *you* need a laser light show variance from the CDRH before you can perform laser light shows for the public. Technically, you must have your variance before you purchase a certified laser projector, although some manufacturers will assist you in obtaining your...

you are looking at a mound of paperwork to make them legal... assuming they can be made legal. 2x25W projectors is a lot of power, especially if you have limited laser experience and safety training. i would not suggest going this route.

Looking at buying two IP65 25W RGB units from a Guangzhou supplier, $3,308, to be installed on a mobile outdoor stage for public events. AI tells me I should ask for variance and acession numbers I know they won't have variances, but is it worth trying to get a CDRH accession number? Does...

Hi Steve, there are plasma polishers that I've seen used for cast acrylic polishing that are pretty cool. It's occurred to me that rolling the contour at temperature might be a way to go - depending on the surface tension effects. The one time I tried to make a dimple tube the surface tension was...

That's fair - I tend to overthink things. I have access to a great maker space so "make enough for everyone at SELEM" is kind of my default. I have tried using a CO2 laser cutter in raster mode to "machine" acrylic. It sort of works, but the surface texture is grainy. Probably not an issue if...
