Queens! That's even further than Delaware, LOL, though the tie-in with NY and LSO would be cool. I added a channel to the SELEM Discord server for real-time discussion of new location ideas, if anyone wants to use it. I'm pretty sure most SELEM attendees have access to the server already since...

Hi, I have been given a few nice big bounce mirrors with screws for adjustment but they have been stored in a damp environment so the mirrors have gotten black spots from corrosion. Would it be possible to just get new mirrors and glue them on top of the old ones? What kind of mirrors and...

Do you really need to use a DPSS laser? You could get a modern green diode and get rid of the problem!

Love that old-school vibe... Glass tubes are sexy! :) That being said, my wife is unlikely to allow me to have any more ion lasers in the house. Seems she's still salty about the hole in the couch from 12 years ago... Remember: always use an appropriate beam block when firing an HGM5...

Ugh - reminds me of a show I did outside of DC. Was able to keep the rain out of the Lexel 95 supply, but not out of the temporary 3-phase distribution panel we had set up. Blew a breaker in the middle of the show and got bit trying to reset it. 208 hurts! I understand the appeal of this...

A wonderful new addition to the Vintage Laser Archive is this pristine 1980 Florod Xenon ion plasma tube, donated by Mr. Robert Smith. He took it out of a system in the early '80s and kept it on the wall ever since. Way to go Robert! Best packing job I've seen!!! I wonder how many other "man...

Ah man so awesome, thank you. I'll give it a try tonight when I get home. As I bought the 3 scanners for £15 they all needed something sorting on them so for now it's a learning process to see how it all works. I'll eventually dump these in the not-so-distant future and get something that's...

Without knowing the current rating you really canít adjust the pots. for 100.00 you can buy a new rgb module and dump all that. Just keep the scanners and case. Trust me you will be much happier. That said, if you want to play, just donít go much more than 2/3 of the brightness pot. Leave...

Stay away from the flexmod. Why build on something unobtainium. If something goes wrong your in trouble. Those simple drives are supported and really good. Not saying the flexmod is bad. It was my preferred for years.

I wouldn't mind one that isn't too far from NY. Like maybe a few states away. Would definitely make things easier if I were to attend.

Hello mate, thanks for the reply. I had a little go with the pots and found this; Far right pot: adjusts the brightness of the laser Middle pot: I'm assuming this is for the TEC temperature as the fan on the back of the laser ramped up. Left pot: Couldn't see or hear any difference. Single...

If we do end up at Brad's place next year, what about finding another place for the following year much further south (say Georgia or Florida - like Savannah or Jacksonville)? And then just alternate each year north/south. So 'every other year' people either have a short drive, or a really...

Until fairly recent, actual 'blue' was the more expensive while Blu-ray (405nm) is cheap but to our eyes not very bright... from your pic my guess is that you have a violet laser (405nm) and not an actual blue.<br> most makers set the outputs below the max for a longer life. AND slight...

As Kecked said, that green laser is a DPSS laser which requires the temperature on something called a TEC to be set correctly and adequate current for the IR pump diode. Other things can go wrong with DPSS lasers over time. Looking at your pics, you have three potentiometers on the driver,...

Did that in Missouri once, keeping the inflato-screen up all night was distracting to say the least. But if we rotate screen duty with four person teams it should be possible. :-) Keeping the rain out of the model 168 PSU was another matter.. I was just the contractor, I didn't do the setup....
