    Found today 10 units of P73 available in stock, "in stock" is the good part, the bad part is they cost 233 euros + VAT + Shipping. Actually for 500mW its still cheap but not as cheap as they have been picked up for from other sources. I could have them in the hand in 3-4 days.

    Looking good CDBeam!! What correction setup is that? I'm seeing 2 convex lenses .. ?
    Wow $304 USD per diode.. too rich for my blood .. think I'll stick with the G71s .. if I pop one I wont cry .. :]

    G71 might be the best move anyway considering the tests have been done with that one. I would order a couple of P73 to try but the price might go even higher for just a few.

    Thanx Andy...Steve, the C-lenses are a plano convex with a 10mm fL and a plano convex with a 60mm fL. So, together they deliver 6X. These lenses were freebies from Kiyoucan that he cut from the original set. The GB will have a plano concave and a plano convex with the same 6X magnification. So, this is really a prorotype, but it is shows promise. Sorry for the crap Farfield shots, I am a hack photographer too !! BEAM

    Soooo .... where do we get these wonderful cyl lenses? Do the convex 6X appear to be better than the PCX-PCV combination? Is it just a matter of the space required? Is the GB now defunct? I know.. so many questions ...

    Depending on what you wan. If I remember correctly, ki has one set of PCX-PCX left (Where PCX is planoconvex and PCV is planoconcave). Originally the PCX-PCX design was chosen due to ease of manufacture and the fact that Ki wanted to knifedge two beams together at the focal length the first (10mm fl) PCX lens produces, which turned out to be very unstable. Thus why have a large distance (70mm) between lenses when with a PCX-PCV you have the same functionality but a shorter distance - which in some projcectors distance is a very limiting factor.

    [QUOTE=steve-o;226073Is the GB now defunct?[/QUOTE]
    As far as I know, no. The only thing stopping it from happening is the fact that the minimum quantity of 25 has not been met, thus prices will be high..

    If I posted something incorrect, please do correct me. Just to know, what is the distance between the two cylinders in the new telescope setup?

    that is correct i am trying to compile all the test data and make the OP in the GB thread have all the needed info.
    But the GB is very close to a go.
    4 units left.
    after this GB I am not going to do it a second time unless we can get 50.
    So this may be the only time to get them.

    Ahh Steve, I did not realize the prices had dropped so much, last time I was looking at these diodes was 2011 and then were around 70usd.
