I said Gm but I think it may be GS scanners, they are old. I can the model later.
    Squat that bug,

One day I'll finish my build.

    Hi Jim,

if you didn't want to bother with the DAC you could just go old school with a couple of oscillators direct into the galvo amps. Then if you wanted to build on this you could add more oscillators, filters etc. After all this was the start of everything in the 70's. Would take me back though and we may have to dry a few eyes looking back on the "the good old days". sorry old git moment

    Cheers

Jim Just realised I do have an old Beamscan controller and head. This is a very basic stepper motor driver. Not sure if it is worth much. Someone offered to buy it a while ago. But at the very least you could have it on loan for a while. I would say you could have it, but part of the "collection"is something I try to avoid. But housing this with you for a year or so is fine with me It really is quite good and gave the PM20s a run for their money in terms of ease of use and setup. It is also really easy to mount

    Cheers

    Jim,

This is a PL thread on the Beamscan, which you can borrow for an extended loan http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...mscan-XYP-1000.

    Cheers

Thanks Steve, thats the 'sort' of thing I mean, certainly looks like that will do the trick - BUT - unless you wan't to sell it then a loan of it is not really what I am after but a massive thank you for the offer mate, it's appreciated.

It's also appreciated all the offers of various scansets but as Nige say's, it's a 'solution' i am after and not a wet one either
I have an old scanset myself I could use but I don't want to go down the DAC/PC/Lappy route. I also don't have time to build something other than 'plonk' the mirror set at the end of my ALC base plate and plug it in hence me being very specific of what I am after.

To get a photon fix i know a very good alternative in Holland you know, mr. Stanwax.
Since daniel and RGBee are not able to make it, maybe you could come over ?
It's already in 3 weeks from now. TonyAztec will also be there.
Let me know man, it's way tooooo long we've spoken !!!
And ofcourse i'll be down in April too.
Hopefully mr. Graham and RGBee can put their mixing skills to test again, on the cool speakers that Smog bought just for this purpose.
And i liked Disco Monkey, what was wrong with it ? ;-)

I would hate to go back to using smoke machines as they tend to over do it a bit and we end up with either no smoke or so much smoke you can't see the back of yer eyelids
    Hey Jim,

I can bring the trusty old Unique again. Have some 4 or 5L fluid left in it, will be ok for a weekend, since it barely uses any fluid ;-)
If you want, let me know ok ?

Yes I am there. Hoping to have a new DJ controller too. Lots of new tunes as well :-)
