These are DC fans the operate off the power supply voltage. They are series connected so if one fan goes bad then both will stop working. So it could just be a bad connector somewhere.

WTF ??? Ok, then.
I still offered to buy this once I won it and you told me of the mishap. I also told you I was still interested in the crystal. Technically I have already won the crystal and have said I'd pay for it already. Now you've chosen to relist it??
That's kind of poor form as a seller dude. Just sayin'.
Message sent on ebay as well.
Hey Chief -
Indeed, however, I never did get any satisfying answers to: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...566#post254566 ..so... I gotta say - if those xtals are, indeed, that spanked.. I'd say you're better of him bailin' on ya.. If indeed, the faces are toast, don't think they're worth even the shipping, quite frankly (..if the precious faces were that poorly taken care of, what do the bond-wires look like??)
..and, the whole 'dropped it' / don't know what's wrong (yet, it is assessed / judged to be 'non-functional' / only for spares, etc, on the sole-basis of the fans not-powering up??.. Also, 'no means of testing further', uh.. I believe there are 3-4x 'purportedly sales-worthy' x-tals, yes?..) scenario... mmm, I'm gonna go with 'I smell fish.'![]()
Mr coherentgeek, a) this is not ebay, b) not-cool to make such assumptions about a buyers' preferences, relative to an 'incident', c) need to know if, indeed, those xtals are as hammered as they look in the pix, cause, if-so.. I'd respectfully suggest you just stick to eBay...
