Question Installing/Running Pangolin Beyond under Linux Mint (or any Linux distro)

Has anyone attempted to install Pangolin Beyond under a Linux OS using something like Wine or Bottles [compatibility layer capable of running Windows applications (not an emulator)] or similar? With Windows 10 end-of-life support around the corner, it would be nice to do a full migration to Linux.

I think folks are making a little too much over the Win 10 end of support date- it's not like your system is going to suddenly stop running or spoil like
rotten vegetables this October. My everyday computer is a 2009 Toshiba laptop running the very first release of W11 (21H2) even though it does not qualify,
and this is because I signed up for the Windows Insider program a bit earlier. The first release of W11 has been dead for about a year and a half and I
still get daily updates for Defender, monthly Malicious Software Removal, and Edge browser. I even got 2 major OS updates after the end of support date.

I have played with Linux based Ubuntu running virtual W10 using VMware on a high power system, but I have no Pango gear for testing. I've never heard of Wine or Bottles, but that seems to be a better option for old gear like my laptop vs running a full blown VM. Thanks for bringing it up.

    Thanks for the info.
I mainly want to cut the cord with Microsoft and all of their Windows shenanigans, and I don't care for Win11's UI. But, alas, the majority of the software that I use on a regular basis keeps me tethered.

I prefer W10 UI over 11 as well. I may experiment a little with Wine.

I've heard of one user on Parallels (MAC) and one doing WINE for Quickshow only. The problem is adding an extra interpolating control layer between a safety critical laser real time laser show controller and a CPU is not a great idea.
This is why no one does try it. Both of the afore mentioned cases were trying this for studio use only. Beyond makes function calls to both the OS and the Mother Board on a PC. I doubt many emulators go that deep or will tolerate all of Beyond's custom video and hardware drivers. People have tried before, generally with very negative results. DirectX, OpenGL, Lots of other issues.

Windows 10 Long Term Service Channel (LTSC) might be a much better idea. It's a Stripped Win 10.
