not sure if you saw my post above, but a 635 next to a 650 is going to be next to impossible to tell a difference with.

if it just comes down to which is going to look better in general, i would say go with a 635. of course, its more money, but it would probably come out about the same compared to the power difference uyou would need for 650.

    just my 2 cents worth.

    Hi Marc

I did see your post I just got distracted (I'm at work) while doing replies

I was actually looking at your site for pricing, the problem I'm having in making a decision is based beam spec versus price

You can buy a 650nm of high power for less than a 635nm of equivalent power but with hopefully better beam specs (this my understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong)

One other thing I was considering was that for the price of the Laserwave 650nm laser I could also get a laserwave 532nm to replace my Lasever module therefore have a full lasewave projector (I have a reason for this)

On a side note, you may be able to answer something for me on Laserwave modules, do/can the Laserwave Reds come with the OEM 5V power supplies or are they only supplied with an integrated AC power supply?
    Cheers
    P.S. thesk8nmidget I received you email, thanks

P.P.S. KnightLite I would try and make contact with Max first before purchasing, it took me a month and a half for my blue to arrive (this was a couple of month ago though)

    hey loopee-

the LW modules come with an OEM power supply. Exactly like THIS PIC

i tried sending you a PM but it says they are off by the way.

a 650nm Red has a "LITTLE* bit better beam quality than a 635. in all honesty i have not seen enough of a drastic difference to justify purchasing a 650 over a 635. that is just my opinion. i love the brightness factor of a 635 over a 650 way too much!

in fact again, if i had 1 on next to each other (a 635 next to a 65) and asked you to point out which was 635 and which was 650 based on beam brightness AND/OR beam quality, i would bet you wouldnt be able to tell. in fact, most of us probably couldnt. it is VERY hard to tell. divergence is a little better mostly, but beam size at aperture (which is what we mostly worry aobut) is almost identical!

    -Marc.

let me know if you decide you want pricing. i give PL members better pricing than what is on my site.
