No this is not a laser meet + greet (yet), but I know I and a few others would really like to know how many laserists are actually in Australia! Since its a rather large country, and quite a low population, its kinda hard to organize a meet, since most people would have to travel quite a substantial distance. All Aussies post in this thread, and maybe include a rough location (If you dont wanna give your full location) so we know where you all are!

So, of the 14 I think there are probably only nine of us somewhat active, this is of cause only taking into consideration those that have Australia as a location in the profile.

However one maybe disappearing as I’m looking at moving to London next year (anyone looking for a network engineer?)

I see this post is a little old but in the interest in linking up with other Ausi enthusiasts.....

Just introducing myself, I’ve been involved in production and lighting for over 10.... yikes nearly 20 I should say, with my hay day being the big dance parties in Sydney in the early 90's (yes I feel like an old fart now)

I moved from Sydney to QLD 4 years ago now and am dabbling with intel lighting again and now ilda lasers.

I use Fiesta, as a controller with a view to getting a pangolin setup when the budget allows.

I have the following toys

-150 mw Red Tang DMX
-250 mw RG Tang Big dipper DMX << ?
-200 mw Green PF14 ILDA Pu Feng lighting company (dead scanners > Chinese crap scanners 6 months use)
-500 MW RGB PF 15 ILDA Pu Feng lighting company (dead scanners > Chinese crap scanners 3 months use)
-100 mw Blue CNI laser from failed 1st import from China
-50 K scanners set to revive 500mw rgb rig. still to install.
-various front surface mirrors and diffraction gratings from ebay

As I’m suspect on the Chinese crap I would really love to get these units in front of a meter and see what they are actually outputting, the colour and brightness looks great but it’s impossible to tell the output by eye. If there is any one in QLD with these resources let me know, I’m 300 KM from nowhere so I’m pretty much happy to travel 1000 KM to where ever you are Brisbane > Cairns. I also get down to Sydney and Melbourne 1-2 times a year too.
