    Hey dash8brj

    Welcome to the forum

Yeah, as Kit (hey Kit) said you’re not too far away; I’m just around the corner in Redfern.

Lasershowsimon isn't that far away from you either, he’s in St Peters

There are some others in inner city Sydney as well

    Hi dash8brj,

Perth here. I visit Sydney often.

I now have Spaghetti and it's ok for the price, to begin with at least. Looking at QS FB3 too, maybe we can arrange a group buy on this to get the cost down?

Look forward to seeing your setup.

    All the best,

    Wayne.

ahhh mines boring, just a chinese projector, 20k scanners, dell laptop and the frame streamer (when it arrives).

I do have a design for a 2 watt projector in the works.

I'm not bad with the hard ware, but no artist, so you'll mainly be seeing a compilation of predrawn ILD's from my setup

If we're going to have a SydLem, I'd love to come, and see some of you guys and your projectors.

Just for giggles, heres my big baby doing a maintenence burn (taken five minutes ago, laser still running!)

    Luv my argon

    Hi zerowaitstate,

I've go no experience replacing scanner mirrors but maybee if we start talking about the first steps someone will chime in who has.

I'm assuming the mirror would be glues with apoxy so maybe you could heat it with a hot air gun then dislodge the remaining fragmentwith a small jewelers screw driver.

Next if you have some digital verniers post the exact thickness and dimensions of the mirror. There was group buy for mirrors a little while ago for mirror including scanner mirrors. Maybe Dave might have some.

Ideally you would have a purpose build locating fixture to do the job but it may not be essential.
I imagine getting the mirror seated symmetrically is very important to stop vibration and resonance. If you can some how clamp the mirror in place measure and adjust it you might just be able fix it yourself.

Can anyone with experience chime in and tell us if this is feasable with minimum tooling?

Ps sorry about the flooding. Hope you are ok.

    Good luck
    Kit

Edit: maybe repost this in a new thread with the problem in the title as there may be alot of people who can offer advice who might skip this thread as they don't think it related to them.

Yeah i had forgotton about this thread, at the time i opted to keep the old original mirros in place as i was not (and am still not confident ) that i can refit the mirrors with perfect alignment and then re tune the units.

im in a real spot i need to get this projector back up and running as it is a means of income.

    hey guys

I forgot about this thread - been quite a few updates since I posted here.

    1. The red laser blew in my chinese projector. Going to replace that.
    2. Ordered DT40W's, and a RGB dichro set from LSP, and have a case (Jaycar 2u rackmount) - am building my own projector.
    3. Sold my argon (to help fund the projector).
    4. Havent gone and bought spaghetti - am going straight to pangolin FB3
    5. This will be a SLOOOOOW build, as being on a low income doesnt help when saving for a $1600 kvant red laser! Once I have this, the other 2 (green and blue) will be pocket change in comparison!

Do you guys have a clue (i have no car) where I can get a nice baseplate to put in my projector. I'd need a 1x1 ft piece of 6mm thick aluminium to make a baseplate.

It seems theres a few sydney siders here who like playing with projectors - mabye we should organise a mini sydney lem
