Normally you put a shutter in the projector and the key switch controls the shutter, this is nice for both safety and artistic reasons, and you can warm up the lasers pre show.

A and B are ilda connector pins, shorted inside the controller, and designed to handle low voltage and low current so your projector will not project unless your controller is connected. Normally wired in series with the low voltage key, which usually drives a relay that opens/closes the shutter.

The shutter is usually designed to be spring loaded and fail closed if the power is off.

Most countries want a interlock as well for the projector lid.

I got an 24v solenoid with stand that you can buy.
But you need to make a small circuit to get it to work.
