Default Mystery Box.. Coming to a SELEM near you!

This box was handed down to me, and I have been working to get it in a state of repair for SELEM.

I have heard from Steve that it was an LSD Co. piece, and has passed through the hands of DZ also. A lot of the decals have come off, making it even more mysterious.

What do you think it is:
    a)Nuke launch activation panel?
    b)Acid warp control box?
    c)Representation of WOMAN?

Have you ever SEEN it in action? Post your thoughts

    Boards look like this:

I think it should be an ancient prototype of DAC to get galvo's control.

it looks like one of the boxes that technological artisans makes

the one i had was a 2 zone offset gain box with a master gain/offset section
Yes, both of you are right, I think. Still waiting on the possibility of schematics for repair. We won't know what it really can do till she's humming agin.

Aha, thanks for posting the link. I wonder what happened at that 'next PL meet' with Bill. It seems history is about to repeat itself

Rowland or Roland, either way probably very similar in construction, like an analogue synthesizer; a bunch of oscillators with various waveforms and some filters. The only difference in construction would probably be a dc offset control to move the pattern position.

I'm guessing here so don't shoot me if I'm wrong, Steve would be the man.

DZ never brought it to a LEM when Bill was present. So history won't be repeating itself, rather, it will be history in the making! (Assuming that it works and we can get a set of scanners hooked up to it, that is.)

It was at SELEM last year, and given to mixedgas.

Yep, it's been passed around in the past in a state of disrepair, I should know tonight or tomorrow if it will be fully working for SELEM! I've built a few little boards to help get it in shape. While many will be gazing at beams this would look cool being projected on a surface behind the beams.

*THAT* was the box that was given to Steve? I had no idea! Hell, why didn't we power it up first and see if it worked? We could have played with it...
