Hey... welcome to the club you will be amazed at those puppies. I love my ones.

The small mirror is a pain getting lined up to use the middle of the mirror can take time.
With this size mirror even the "side step" that occurs with the dichros becomes important to allow for in your alignment.
With larger mirrors you ca ignore it but not with this little baby.

The other PCB the guys are talking about is an "outboard" PCB that has the extra driver transistors to provide the huge current needed at 60k.
Fitting it all in can be fun I have done it on mine plus added the 640 red but there isn't a lot of room left now.

    Have fun...

    Cheers

    Hey guys/girls

That they do (especially for the money) they also come with a fairly extensive manual with details for tuning with a scope. Although I'm not looking forward to that day

The boards do look different in height but it just an optical illusion with one board forward of the other.

As Pitts said these have the high power option board attached that quite impressive to think that they can pump 20A RMS into the scanners especially seeing how small the coil winding are coming out of the scanners.

    Nice one Troy,

Your going to have quite a formidable system now
Almost, just need to add a new red with better beam specs than the torchlight I have currently

    Hey Pitts

Are you using the notch filter?
I read in other post where Bill states not to use it on some scanner amps (I think it was the DT series) so I'm wondering does it apply to these.

Also, in the manual it shows that a ground wire should be used between the two amps when used in X-Y mode, connecting P7 between both amps (or P8 on the HPO). I noticed in the photos of your setup that it doesn't appear that you have done this.

    Hey 300EVIL

Around AU$3000 (including the Scanners, power supplies, OSLS Mount, shipping to Oz and I had it pre-wired to get the connectors)

    The scaners alone are US$1995

This is where living in Australia can bite, the exchange rate can just suck at times

    Suprisingly, they're only 24V at 4.5 amps x 2 (to get a negative rail)

Huh,,, I thought it would have been more current with looks of those big power transistors on there. Very nice! Please post some pics or video of some 60K (if that's what your tuning for) scans when you get them installed.
    Thanks Again!

I do need to check out those ratings against what the manual recommends to ensure I get maximum performance out of the scanners.

I certainly will provide videos of the scanners doing their thing but it will be a few weeks to a month away as I'm limited in time at the moment and I need to work out how I'm going to get the power supplies in.
