Looks like the post man missed my house again!

Very nice, and they are a fair bit cheaper than I originally thought, though still not cheap for me

By the way, what kind of graphics do you plan on scanning with all that speed?

    Nothing special at this stage.

Mainly got them for the better performance at larger angles with flexibility of higher scan rates for more complex graphics.

And I had some spare cash to help the American economy along

still don't understand why the mirrors have different shapes and sizes....
And the boards seem to have different sizes.
    why?

    Boards - perspective.
    Mirrors - performance.

    Hi all

Almost finally finished getting the new scanners installed so I thought I’d post some pictures (there’s more in my gallery http://www.photonlexicon.com/gallery/v/users/loopee/Retrofit/)

I’ll post some new video soon

    Enjoy

    The scanners and amp replaced

Bloody cats hair, it gets into everything!

This is showing the difference between the old 6210 and the new 6215 scanners, amps and power supplies, I ended up replacing the power supplies with some DIN rail type units that I could fit in.

Comparison of the 6210 to the 6215

The CT 671 amp compared to a MediLas amp

The new power supplies (two back to back), they take up less space and provide more current then the ones I bought with the scanners.

While I replaced the scanners I re-engineered the optics table for a more solid option than I had previously. These mirrors are temporary and will be getting replaced with larger ones to allow for better alignment.

Still have a little bit to do but it's almost there

We want to see test patterns !!!
I don't know if you've mentioned already, but why are you upgrading? Seems to me that the 6210's are great scanners already

    Red face

I don't get it. 3 unnecessary mirrors. Why waste power? Got too much?

They are far from unnecessary. They make near field alignment so much easier...

IMHO a perfect example how/why thermal grease should not be used !

Makes it look like a school-project class B amplifier I finished 20 years ago
