I just ran the numbers and it seems that 1-3 characters per line perfectly matches the ADHD culture going around the intarwebs these days. We are currently averaging 2 per line and skipping all superfluous text after that, so it's near flawless. That's science and blogger-sociometric-ology talking, I'm not one to argue.
All joking aside, I'll look at it and see what I can figure out. It's an old template begrudgingly offered by Vbulletin in lieu of their premium(and costly) mobile options so it tends to be ignored.
Quick theory: Given the screen resolution on a mobile device: Are you sure all the letters aren't being displayed and that they are merely not just masquerading as pixels?
Quick fix.
Orientate your phone / Tablet to Landscape.
