Well Dan, the 32A supply shouldn't be a problems and it will be great to see you and your stuff there too. Surfleet sounds like the event that would suite your setup easier than maybe Leicester as it is not really outdoor sutiable there.

    Hope you can make it

I've just sacrificed a few quid out of my "Tennants Super T" fund to purchase some of those Flying Lantern thingamubobs to join in the Aerial Antics at UKLEM 5.5

Or if Jim can't get the heating working again we can just light 'em and huddle around in a "Frozen Waif Stylee".

I might not know much about lasers but I can set fire to things just fine.

    Default Hello!

    Hi Everyone,

Have just joined PL and I am wondering if anyone can attend the event in December?

A bit about me, I used to run Lasermatrix in Southampton, good friends with Rob (Stanwax) and totally and utterly hooked on lasers and lasery related stuff.

Literally have just ordered a set of 40k scanners and a 500mW 532 from Rob just so I can get back into it after having to sell my setup a few years ago due to unforseen circumstances.

Anyway, Hope it's OK to come along, nice to meet you all and hello again!

    Chris

    Lightbulb

Insanity's tip of the day: Bring a blowtorch to light the lanterns.

They are a nightmare to light with a lighter, especially in a breeze. I was doing a festival in summer where we sent over 3000 into the air and a blowtorch was the easy way to get them going.

Umm, it's cheaper My 1W 532's cost me over £4k a piece when I first bought them and the scanners were £900 a pair I think, they were 40k, not CT's unfortunately but still good with a nice scan angle.

The technology has certainly moved on in leaps and bounds, which is good to see, Rob's been bringing me up to speed a bit of some of the latest red and blue tech that's coming up.

Yeah, Actually I have him to blame for getting me into this in the first place lol, I've always been fascinated by lasers, but Rob sold me my first 532 and helped me build an analog modulation system for it so I can control the intensity, I shall never forget the day I built my first projector and turned it on Cheers Rob...

    Thanks for the welcome everyone!
