    Question Laser radiation poison

As i'm just a simple user of lasershow without any technical background or master degree in physics, i'd like to ask someone who does have this abilities to answer a question. Is it possible to get poisoned from laser radiation? Like it's just some photons travelling highspeed in one beam but does it produce some radiation like for example Uranium?

i highly doubt that lasers produce ionizing radiation which can detach electron etc, have a read up on Radiation and it'll help you out a bit

No doubt there are probably some radiation-dangerous lasers such as x-ray lasers etc, but others will probably chip in here

The simple answer is "no" for light show lasers.

yet, as a light show user you must be aware of the danger of laser beams to human and animal eyes. Eye safety is at the top of your list of concerns as a responsible light show user.

The type of radiation you are concerned about is ionizing radiation, such as x-rays, gamma rays, and high energy nuclear particles.

Visible and infrared laser radiation is not classified as ionizing radiation.

Vision hazards still exist, and in high power applications you need to be aware of skin hazards as well. But lasers won't give you radiation poisoning.

ok it must've been the food then because after i had the laser opened and operating w/o lid, i felt really weak and sick, like my body was hurting all over so i was afraid i got some radiation poison =)

Sounds like it is just the rebound after enjoying photonic exposure.
Some people have that with drugs, we tend to have it with this hobby. ;-)

Just watch out you don't get any stray beams in the eye!

The only thing it poisons is your mind.

After seeing a great laser display you mind just keeps telling you, you must have more.

So whilst the wife and kids are destitute and starving on the streets, and the house has been repossessed, you can still be found down the park under a bush with a laser light show and stolen electricity. Beware!! Lasers are bad for the finances or should that be fiancées or both?

Ozone gas production near high voltage (several kv) can induce light headedness, headaches and nausea (aside from death in extreme cases).

I felt this effect after playing with my tesla coil for long periods.
