Learnt something today about red diodes

thanks to simon ive been testing a lens to see if i can find the route of the problem with my lens stability issue.

simon sent me a 7020h lens in a metal housing and guess what... problem solved.

so it would seem the stability problem is the black plastic housing holding the lens.

Although the diode block only warms slightly; I'll bet the black plastic lens tube get frickin' toasty inside, being black, an insulating material and sat right next to a fairly high powered laser diode.

Is there any way to fit the Roithners in the Aixiz metal lens tubes, maybe with some lathe action?

yes there is, but if you want 100 lens thats not the best option

I will be manufacturing m9x . 5 barrels for a forum member in the next week or two. If there is a need I can make some barrels for the rothner lens I can make those too.

I know I need 15 of them for a project of mine, anyone else ?
