Hey Brad...
Did you ever check with Mark (Imagelight) or Jeff (rgb-gas) about the idea of carpooling? You guys could split the gas and get down there CHEAP. Then you could rent a suite at the Holiday Inn Express and split that as well. In the end, you'd save a ton of cash vs flying down and renting a car.
Regarding business expenses; I would say attending a LEM as a laserist is definitely a business related expense. It's also a good networking opportunity.

I haven't had a chance to check yet as I'm not entirely certain what time I could get the heck out of dodge. I've now got something booked Friday during the day in addition to the wedding that night but, I'm working on getting that covered. The potential is beginning to exist to do Thursday sometime through Monday or even Tuesday so, I might be able to hang with Marc for a bit. Maybe a visit to see the mouse is in order.
Universal is also a fun trip - especially if you dig coasters. I haven't been back since they re-themed the dualing dragons pair as the Harry Potter Quiddich match, but it's supposed to be pretty cool. (And really, the ride should be the same as before, which was great.) They've also got the Hulk, which is worth the price of admission just for the linear accelerator they use in leu of a lift hill!
Blue Man Group also has a theater over at Universal, and if you've never seen them live it's worth every penny of the $70 ticket price.
If there is enough interest in going to one of the theme parks and/or going to see Blue Man Group, I might just extend my stay by a day or two so I can go along. It's been several years since I was at any of the parks. (I went to Disney's MGM park to ride the Aerosmith rockin' roller coaster back in 2006, and I hit Universal (both parks) plus the Blue Man Group show in 2008.)

Just over a week to go!![]()
anyone looking to share a room?
I'd be happy to split a room cost with you. I was going to check with Aaron and see if he's going home or going to be staying at the hotel to see if he might have a couch available. I'm about 98% committed to clicking "buy" on flight tickets.Probably just going to fly in Friday early afternoon and fly out Sunday morning.
I'm going home; the boss can be tense around LEM time and we are kind "between" houses right now...or I'd say my couch is yours to surf.
When I was checking hotel rates I found a motel just down the road with rooms for $55. It is called Americas Inn or Americas Best or something like that. I almost booked there but chose Holiday Inn instead for the breakfast and because I like hotels better than motels.
