Ok, thanks to my buddy Pieter who lives in Friesland and send me the pictures of the newspaper i am very proud to present you the article in the Dutch Newpaper called Leeuwarder Courant. This is the main newspaper for the whole Northern region of the Netherlands.

It's in Dutch and even contains some Frysian language (mainly being the reactions of the villagers ;-)
My buddy Pieter translated that for me and i have translated the whole article to English (as good as i can, so if you see mistakes, remember English is not my native tongue). The translated text is below the pictures.

First picture of the frontpage, with a catchy picture.

Then the article, with photo of Ernst (VJ Ernst), my hackerspace buddy GMC and myself (Hobbybob).

And here's my translation of the text:
    Laser Spectacle in Marrum

Marrum - Laserfanatics met this weekend in Marrum and delivered an impressive spectacle of light. People said "I am getting all wild about this".

Fast spinning circles in all colors of the rainbow. Sensual dancing ladies made in laserlight (referring to "Rhythm is a Dancer show"). Ultrafast waves on stomping beats.
A lightshow that would complement a performance of DJ Tiesto, could just be seen in Cityhall "De Nije Tille" in Marrum.

The big hall was the stage of the first Dutch Laser Enthousiast Meeting (actually McCarrots Lems were the first, but this is the first 3 day LEM, they made a small error there!). A weekend where all amateur laserfanatics - around 20 of them - from the country met to exchange knowledge.

They made everything themselves and love to invent the impossible. And they teach eachother about Safety. Because lasers can be dangerous. "You have to know very well what you are doing", says organiser Dimitri Modderman."Lots of people just do something without the proper knowledge, but a show must be safe. Laserlight can blind you!".

Most of the participants earn their money in the field of electronics. In their spare time they "tinker" with their lasers, after that they give the most impressive lightshows on big events. Dancefestivals, concerts, company openings and for instance when a new bridge gets opened. Laser is hot! In Saudi-Arabia a wealthy man paid 200.000 Euro for a show over his palace.

In the back of the hall of "Nije Tille" some curious villagers come in around 8.30pm because they heard that caretaker Fred Prummel has got something special to show.
Lonneke Koldijk and her daughter Ellen watch in disbelief to the spectacular shows. Ellen tries to catch the beams. "As if the light dances!"

Joke van Oosten is lured to the cityhall by her man Anne. "I think it has something to do with remote controlled racingcars", she guesses before in the bar. Her husband loves that (You must know that there is also a model/slot racing club in the attic of the city hall). But a few minutes later she is in a dark room filled with smoke.
Colored laserbeams make an impressive show to pumping housemusic. Her mouths opens in disbelief. "This is something", She stammers dumbfounded,"This is art, it's amazing!".

Also her husband Anne is impressed. "Fabulous, i am going out of my mind! With this you can do great things!" He is getting visions. When the local music club and Drumband "De Eendracht" performs and ask such a 'young laserdude' to perform a nice show. That would be a great spectacle. "When all the local hillbillies are in the room and expect a show of the drumband and then suddenly they get to see this. That would be wonderful!".

If you have any hints on where to improve my translation i'd surely like to know to make it a more interesting read for native English speakers.

I got an HD videoclip from the LEM. Not just a movie. A movie from my real first show. Not by one but 6 projectors! Very impressive if I may speak for myself. I got 2 more shows. But I don't know if I can put them on youtube because of the rights. One thing I have to do next time is to shut down autofocus. Because sometimes it goes a little bit out of focus. But still impressive pictures from my new camera. Enjoy! Thanks all you guys it was a great LEM hope to be on the next (weekend) LEM

Just arrived back, cheers to all involved!
Double cheers to Dimmers for the mega hospitality 'n' clat; pog on!

Special thanks to Denis for reuniting me with what could be regarded as the prime possession in any laserists kit bag; a KitKat chunky, that made me chuckle, so thank you Sir!

Great to have a chat with everyone over a few beers, roll on the next one.

Finally found the time to write a post after holiday, training and work.
First a big thanks to Hobbybob for arranging the LEM, i also want to give a big thanks to Rob Stanwax for installing and tuning the color collection board, it makes a huge difference, adjusting the rise and fall timings so the three individual colors are started and ended simultaneously. This makes the graphics and beams very clean and even more beautifull. Also a big thanks to Daniel for his pallette tuning assistence, after all these actions i couldn't tell the difference between the KVant and my own do it yourself projector and this makes me very happy.

It was also good to see that laser enthousiasts are also normal people who do not only play with lasers, see pictures attached.

Despite the fact that i could only attend friday and had to leave early on saturdaymorning it was a great event with superfriendly service and i really enjoined the family type of diner table setup for the friday evening pizza's.

    Big thanks and regards !

    Michel
