Well, bloody van decided to snap the cam belt yesterday, a bit to close to Surfleet aswell. It was replaced a year ago last time the head gasket was replaced.

This time it has also bent some valves, so I shall need to remove the head hopeing for no more than a few valves to be replaced, otherwise I'm nicking the wife's car.
    Squat that bug,

One day I'll finish my build.

It should be warrntied then shoudln't it?

Most cam belts have a 50 or 60,000 replacement date.

If its snapped after only a year and well below the replacement mileage I'd be seeking the garage / manufacturer to pick up all of the cost.

In a perfect world Al I would agree, it was me that replaced the belt when doing the head gasket, trying to do the right thing.

What happened was that the aux belt first broke then wrapped around the cam belt causing it to rub then snap causing the damage.

I could claim on my own liability insurance thou.

    WoW,

That's a very very very kind offer Nige, I hope I won't need to take you up on. Na should be fine, when there's a will there's a way.

Or I have to use the Picasso, trouble with that thing is it looks the same from the front and back so you don't know if your going forward or backwards, and Nige, you need the room for your gasser and scope.

I imagine suing yourself might not be that profitable! I hope you get it sorted anyway Tony.

    Nice one Adam.

Al, you need to wheel yourself down to one of these Surfleet meets at some point. There's one in a weeks time dontchaknow.
    See you there, no excuses.

    Hey guys,

I will be coming over as well. Sorry for the radio silence.
Have had a rough year financially with the pump injectors of my Audi failing me, the wood around my windows rotting away on me and an expensive tooth implant.
Have sold the Audi (with pain) and bought me the same Vectra as i had before the audi (only still Diesel). A bit of a step back, but in bagage size enormous and i can bring loads of stuff (1850L of loading space as opposed to 1300 for the Audi!).

The Red module (kvant) in my RGB has died (driverboard failed) and both the blues i built last year in my Green/Blues seem to have a diameter just after the prism pair of 10mm. So something is messed up badly and i am loosing a lot of blue. Which is a bit of a shame, because i just upgraded my greens to new CNI's of almost 1.7 and 1.9W just before the car trouble began (and i still had money ;-)

But as i already missed the Showlem as i like the tinkering/learning LEMs just a little more i thought i needed to come over again.
But this time "on a budget". Since i got hurt very much financially.

So i am staying in the hotel on thursday and helping building up fridays. Then staying in the hall saving some money so i can buy some laserstuff from Rob (need to think what i still need) and have some money to have a lovely curry hopefully with some of you like last time.
Then on Sunday i stay in the hotel again and on monday i will travel back easily to dover and then to home. For already the next day to be a working day.

But i don't want to miss this, it's always lovely to be around you guys with all the cool laser stuff.
So even when moneys tight i am coming over and would love to sign up for Rob's excellent (i know it will be...) trainingclass on QS timeline !

Hope to see you all there mates.
    I didn't fail !
I just found out 10,000 ways that didn't work.
