    Hi all

Back home still buzzing from such a brilliant weekend. Thanks to Jim for the organisation, it takes effort, time and a bit of stress to pull these events off. Well done Jim

Sadly there's no 3G signal in Surfleet so we've not been able to post pictures or update PL, sorry Paul.

We didn't manage to do the QS/Beyond showmaking session due to some BIG lasers requiring attention. This was much more important than the tutorials as Dan and Steve had carted their huge lasers along in the hope of getting them working this weekend. Dan got some lovely photons out of the Purelight, this took the combined efforts and collective brainpower of quite a few folks, each one pooling their resapective skills to get it working again, well done chaps!

Steve had brought along his non-working LFI 60 watt Yag. Unfortunately, it was short of a decent cooling system. Fortunately the 'other' Steve glady obliged by bringing a nice recirculating water system. Sadly it wouldn't start up, so it was duly stripped apart by Rob and each part was cleansed before being reassembled. It turned out that water had leaked through a seal and caused a bit of damage. So, no green photon's this weekend... But, I guess it's worth watching this space .

Particularly happy to see Adrian as he had a bit of a close shave on the way to the meet. I'll leave it to others to fill in the detail here. But, suffice to say that it was a great relief when Adrian finally joined us...

Thank's to everyone else for just being a thoroughly decent bunch of folks, and I look forward to the next meet

    Cheers

    Jem

    All

Just home and all I can say is to echo Jem's words and say what a great weekend. Particularly thanks to Jim for Organising, the other Steve (esbe) for the chiller loan and Rob, without whom we would not have even stood a chance of running the YAG. Shame it didn't happen, but the effort put in by all was and is really appreciated. Finally and not least thanks to everyone else who attended, a great bunch of people

    Many thanks

    Steve

Hey guys, thanks for being so welcoming and answering a few of my daft questions, (its Paul by the way). As I said i've sat here watching and not saying much but when I turned up I did feel that I was in the right place, you are such a great bunch of guys..

I took 2 things away with me... Get some midi control sorted... and how to make Grapes light up in a microwave !!

Hope to see you all again soon...
