Wait a minute, a gobo wheel with glass flter wheels is easy enough to design from scratch, right?

If you're in a real hurry, there's loads of MAC moving head fixtures that have the exact same wheel. All you need to do is pull the wheel from a dead unit and swap the filters.

Part of this quest has been to find the right material that creates the "3D" effect that Brad, DZ, myself and others have been looking for. The projector from laserlinna has that effect and more. As far as "design from scratch", I'm not sure what you meant here - drop in other materials? yes. Build what appears to be a planetary gear system for this? I don't think that's something many of us would want to consider...

Of particular interest to yourselves may be the Clay Paky Golden Scan HPE, a fine vintage Italian lighting fixture often spotted littering ebay. It included a rotating prism wheel, amoungst other interesting effects, the rather terrible attached (I Hope) picture and video show this wheel in action.

Anyone interested in a group buy? I'm not interested in the wheel, I just want 2 enclosures and 2 scan sets.

    Hi,

Looking at the thread and also talking to Linna I decided to buy one of these to check out the effects, not my normal reaction to new products, but I thought I would give it a go. I will be posting a review here when the unit arrives. In the meantime Linna has sent me a copy of the manual and I have to say it it quite impressive. Very well laid out and shows a projector with some quite advanced features, including axis swapping and also DMX slave mode for running multiple identical projectors, which I have not seen before, but I am sure exists. I see this very often in DMX lighting fixtures and so not surprised. The main point to make about the manual is it's safety orientated, with lots of advice and warnings for the novice, including mounting the projector so it projects 3m above standing height and the 2.5 m separation in the other axis. It even mentions about being aware of balconies and reflective surfaces. all in all something which needs to be commended. Well Done Linna and her team!

I will post more when I receive my projector.

    Cheers

    Steve

Laser animation solinger makes a similar wheel, that is loaded with porn - I meanCLP gratings http://www.laseranimation.com/de/produkte/grating
Just got a quote on this product. It is US$3,880 + shipping and handling at today's exchange rates. You could buy FIVE whole laserlinna projectors for this cost.
