Yeah... Someone, please out bid me!!

I can't believe I'm still highest bidder on this beauty... but at what I've bid, I'll be happy to have it just to bring to the LEMs...
If in doubt... Give it a clout?

Blimey! Nearly had it for a song.

Whoever won that got a real bargain!

Due to a no sale on the eBay listing
    BUMP!

Would let it go for £600, free delivery to UKLEM.
(+you could see it running in person)

It's too much for me, 3 phase, huge thing.. But it's very cool, in a way. I remember seeing what looked very similar, I think on the green outside the Council House on College Green in Bristol in the 80's, I think. The memory is very vague, but I remember some amount of awe as I tried to get as close as I could to see it as it had its case open and a few people crowded round it looking at it. The appearance is so weirdly familiar, I'm wondering if it might be the same laser. I bet the UK doesn't have many of them in it. IF you can find out more of its history you might be able to raise its value that way, just keeping it will do that. Cheap strong diodes abound these days, but not one of them has a good Gaussian profile. Or that Quatermass Experiment quality about it, either.

Its full history is known; there's a member here on PL who cut his teeth on THIS ion, back in it's prime when it was used by the sho-co.

I wish I could remember enough to prompt recall of Bristol outdoor shows in the city centre. But it's so vague a memory even that much might be wrong. The weirdly vivid bit seems to be those two tubes, and that square-tube frame mounting. The rest is a blur, it was a dark and crowded moment.

Is there documentation of it being used by Shoco?

I don't have any documentation unfortunately.
It was owned by Peter Ranson of Laser Attractions (closed about 7 years ago).
