Hello,
Yes, that is exactly what I did.
On this page: http://ether-dream.com/manual.html
In the "Firmware Updates" section, it indicates that there is a jumper that could be set internally. Would this help? Would I void any warranty?

Hello,
The instructions say "It should detect the Ether Dream, reset it, and put it into firmware update mode;".
After running the updater, I see the "busy" cursor but nothing is displayed in the programs window. After pressing the "Update" button, the button text greys out and nothing it printed.
ED
are you running win7 64 bit?
i just tried on my system and the lib-usb download from the ED website was failing to create the etherdream usb drivers properly.
i downloaded the libusb-win32-bin-1.2.6.0 from the source forge site:
sourceforge.net/projects/libusb-win32/files and created the etherdream driver. be sure to click on the
"Vendor ID 0xFFFF, Product ID 0x0005, Description "USBSerial""
entry in the list of devices. once i did that, and installed it, the ED showed up in device manage->libus-win32 devices->etherdream.
i ran the installer and heard the relay in the ED click. at that point, the ED is reset and ready for firmware update. run the installer again and you should get an "update" button. click it.
the actual update process only takes about 10-15 seconds.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

I ran the "update-v0.5.0.exe" program. Once again, it ran for a second then made the update button available. The relay in the ED did not click. I clicked "Update" and nothing.

Hello,
I tried starting, ending and restarting the updater - still no reset or relay click.
Should the updater have any text on it? Mine just has a button.
