If not, can CMB expression one up?

Yeah I think that is one of the next features I would like to see is a way to record a live show. LSX has great capabilities with the live show features. But if I make an amazing live show one night its pretty much impossible to have the exact same show. If there was a way I could press record so LSX would turn my live show into something I could play back later that would be amazing. Not sure if this is exactly what you are desiring as well but it at made me think of what I am desiring.

Example I play a live show at SELEM but then later want to play it back for my friends who couldn't make it to SELEM.

I believe that's what the 'Record to ILDA file' button does on timeline editor toolbox. however that ILDA file grows massive pretty soon.
The approach whirling in my mind now would be to log all input variable changes into some sort of txt file, and then feed it to timeline to control itself. In that way we not only could replay the show, but find out what the input values actually were as well and use them for other projects/effects or do final tweaks.

however, that would be loads of text...

    text compresses extremely well..

it would be cool to be able to save the raw input data and reuse it or load it like audio or cat files to you can play a show "live" and then replay the show exactly the same way with the saved live input data.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

guys how to set the end and start time of the show?
I use the buttons called "Set begin time of lasershow to timecursor" and "Set end time of lasershow to timecursor", but when I press play the start and end time are reset again. Why?

Also what was the event called which allowed to set the single "color" of the graphic above it? (like if i have a white only ilda loaded and i want to make it completely green).

the time marks get reset when you use show play, you need to use edit play. the idea is that you can edit parts of the show and when you want to view it in its entirity you click show play. you can assign a part of the timeline to a keyboard or midi key if you want a more permanent solution.

i mostly usr the rgbi event for my colours since it has more features. if you want a. constant colour, set all channels to expression and set both limit sliders of the expr window of each channel to the value you want. you can also use the color event, but this requires palettes which i hate.

Yes, I think the suggestion that Swamidog and Sandstorm have made are a great idea - Recording the input variables rather than the output itself.

Is there anything like this in the suggestions doc?

It would be even cooler if it had the ability to record DMX-in events as well. This is pie-in-the sky, but would eliminate the need to have anything other than LSX running to do a complete, precisely timed laser AND light show. Not to mention, this feature adds $200 minimum value to LSX if we compare it to DMX recorders currently available.

    Hey Galvo,

I went ahead and captured the enhancement requests in CMB's enhancement/bug document.
