working on some new melty light.. from a show in progress.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    it's actually pretty simple.

the background is a square grid that i cropped with a 0 intensity masking circle to make it round. the black ripples across the face are from a z-axis sine intensity curve.

the red "sphere" is actually just three circles that i've cloned on the y-axis and then have world rotational transforms applied. the z-axis intensity falloff is handled with a depth queue shader and the opacity was accomplished by using another clipping circle that scales with the sphere.

there is also an intensity effect that is matched to the xy size controls so the sphere fades from 0% to 100% as the size increases.

the galvos are dt40w's running at 30k. software was LSX and an etherdream DAC.

Come to SELEM, Jon! Chris did a presentation last year on how to create abstracts in LSX, and I'm sure he'd be willing to do it again this year!

I'd love to. Young ones at the house will make that difficult though
