Rick has a very good reputation with a number of my best friends, and I've personally met him also. He's good people as far as I know.



By the way, I don't think it's real fair to act like stalkers to new people here on PL. If I had laser gear I wanted to sell before I was a member here, I probably would've posted it in the B/S/T area first off also...

In fairness, it would be nice to see some photos of the unit, especially considering the 5 figure asking price. Though it is pretty cool that you're willing to sell it with the variance intact.

On a completely unrelated note - have you seen the posts about the upcoming laser enthusiast's meeting on the west coast? LaserMan532 is hosting it. You might want to check it out... Some of your pals will be there, and the event is shaping up rather nicely. I won't be able to attend, as I'll be in Florida, but there will be quite a few people there, including many west coast laserists.

wow.. i was just trying to get some more info out there about the guy, he was all out there in limbo and everyone was all over him for the lack of pics and info..

so i found where the pics were hosted, put 2 and 2 together, and added some info about the guy..

Buffo, i will not make excuses or apologize for being protective of people in this community..

Yes, and no one had anything negative to say about your sleuthing on photobucket. It was your attitude that was in question. (As it has always been.)

Your assertion that "I won't let anyone buy this sight-unseen", along with your admonishment to Rick that he was "very new to our community" (when you are also considered new to our community) makes it sound like you are the administrator and are speaking for the group. And if you are ever going to be bold enough to speak for the group, you'd better make sure you are right, or else you're going to get a reaction like you did above.

Maybe everyone in the friken forum needs to take a step back and READ before making snap decisions about what someone means when the post something...

I was speaking on behalf of myself not for anyone else.. who is "The group"? and why wasn't i told about it?

if you are referring to the community as a whole, i believe I used reasonable discretion in my comments.

Post count doesn't mean diddly. If it did, Pangolin, ILDA-Direct, Laser Wizard, and Clandestiny (all ILDA board executives) would be below you. So you're saying that just because you've posted more than them, that puts you on top? Please....

As to when you will no longer be considered new, I don't really know. It's up to the community. I suppose it will depend more on your attitude than anything though. So far you are still acting like a new member - unsure of how to express yourself without causing conflict.

I'll ask you again - who put you in charge of other people's purchases? How is it that you thought you had the right to PREVENT someone from buying this?

I agree his listing could have been better. And I don't think anyone would have had a problem with your post had you simply pointed out that the listing would be improved with more pictures (especially of the inside of the unit) and maybe asked the guy for a little background about both himself and the unit. Had you done that, we'd all be talking about his projector by now, instead of your attitude.

Actually, that is probably the root of the problem. Your posting style makes it difficult to tell when you're intentionally being an ass (sarcasm) and when you're just too arrogant to realize that you still sound like an ass - even if you don't mean to be.
