Question Scanfail connections on ScanLSP20/30 for hobby projector?

    Hi All,

I'm looking to purchase my first set of galvos for my first home made projector, and after a lot of reading, am looking at the ScanLSP 20 or 30 units from lasershowparts.com (via eBay).

I've read all the product literature and googled around, and I can't find any information on whether it is possible to connect a scanfail board to these galvo amps... I really want my first projector to be as safe as possible.

Any information/hints/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if there are any experienced/professional laserists in Perth, Western Australia that wouldn't mind meeting up with at their local pub to let me ask some questions (beers are on me) before I embark on this project - I would also really appreciate it!

Yep, it is possible to get position output for scanfail from the Scan LSP series. Dave emailed me a diagram for this which I uploaded to the FTP server. You can find the server info by searching the forum. Let me know if you can't find it.

    Cheers,
    Mike

    Hi Blowfly,

Thanks so much for responding so quickly. I assume you mean the PL FTP site. If that's the case, I've just checked through the FTP server, and I can't see anything to do with scanfail/ScanLSP - unless the document is under some obscure name, or I'm losing my mind...

Sorry to bother you, but would you be able to re-upload the document?

    Thanks.

    -Mike

Too bad I'm not in Perth, cause I'm in for a beer and some lasertalk.

But about the safety: have you read anything about the Gento Scanner Safety Board? That is the one I would like to order for my projector in a short while. In the given topic (link) you can also find the manuals for this safety board.
