"Onwards and upwards" as they say .........

As I am now the proud owner of an LD2000 Pro system I've got a hankering (as Jim intimated) to own one of those lovely Kvants.

Just a matter of flogging a few bits and bobs (Gold teeth etc.) before I can go searching for the right setup.

Then please think hard before going down the Kvant route Soffo - yes they are nice BUT there also very overpriced. A certain PL member, that has been mentioned on this thread, I know could build you a projector FAR better than any Kvant at half the price with whatever colours, scansets etc in it that you want.
    Please bear that in mind

They are the Rolls Royce of lasers but if you're brightness sensitive I'd also consider asking them to build you 473 in there instead of 445nm. I've said this before, my experience of 445nm both at the UKLEM and in subsequent videos is that whilst it looks a very nice dark blue on its own, and whilst it produces lovely purples and violets, it does have an effect of severley darkening the lighter mixed colours. Take a look at the Kvant videos on their web site. Horses for courses of course. But it sounds as if like me, you prefer maximum colour punch and brightness and in my opinion, you're not going to get that with 445nm.

I'm sure Pelosh would be able to arrange a Kvant 473 build if you wanted it.

445nm (Right click and save as) http://www.lasershow.sk/videa/Ibiza1.wmv

I'm pretty sure this is 473nm (right click and save as - will stream but faster as a save) ftp://plftp:ildaswap@ftp.photonlexicon.com/Videos/Ministry/Best Demo.wmv

Sorry but I don't agree with that. They have a darn good name yes but if a projector can be built by them then a same projector can be built by someone else with exactly the same specs and I can guess at more or less half the price.
It's like prestige Cars - you pay for the name in most instances.

No doubt the "Rolls Royce" of turnkey systems, built with care and consideration to quality, using quality components etc, but at the end of the day (apart from it being night...); they are assembled with the same components that anybody can purchase or manufacture themself.

Don't forget; a lot of the price you will be paying has to cover overheads i.e. (good) engineers wages, research and development fees, advertising fees, property fees, E.L. insurance, P.L. insurance, P.I. insurance (a biggy) and backup monies to support warranty etc.

There's no questioning the quality of the product, but as already said in this thread; you can build better for less.

    Wink

I do beleive it is one who was just recently flamed for being unworthy to perform the review he just did on another underpowered Laserworld projector.

Carlos - I will guarantee he will beat Kvant's price.

I don't know how I will guarantee it but I will

This will probably spec a laser to outside of your budget Carlos but if you're wanting OPSL, don't waste it on green!!

OPSL yellow (often termed gold) is a unique colour at 577nm. That not only means you get uniqueness in yellow but also that potentially you can mix other unique colours from it as you have 3 watts of 577nm with which you can mix the other colours. The only catch is 577nm isn't cheap and you'd still need a 532 DPSS green in there. So adding gold you'd really be looking at RGB+Y(Gold).
