Can I use the 5V from the power supply that is included with my 635nm laser?

Be wary of the DMX board in that Laser housing, it's a Spacelab one and are rather prone to going Phut!!

I have experience myself and have heard others with the same problem.

I bought a ready built 500mW RGB 'Chinese' jobby in exactly that case with that scanset etc in - They are not good!

The case though is just lovely although don't keep in in direct sunlight as the anodising, or whatever it is, just fades away and leaves it a blotchy copper colour.

I also found the base plate to be VERY suceptible to heat variations and also altered with the tightening of the case screws. If you can, change it to 10mm Ally and float it on rubber mounts. I did and it cured it.

    Jim

EDIT - PLEASE change those wretched dichro mounts - there horrid things

EDIT EDIT - Change the cooling fans to blow in one end and suck out the other and fit 'cooker hood' filter paper over the outsides to remove smoke haze and dust. I also glued a 54>58mm camera stepper ring over the exit appeture and fitted a Hoya Skylight 1B AR class onto it to semi seal the enclosure.

    Default Finished!

Last week I finally finished my projector!
At the and, I was no hard job at all. All it took was a lot of time and patience.

Finished just in time for a try-out during new-years eve. Check youtube for movies. (Green power is reduced to 50% by moncha)
Apologies for the "nice" music I think I fell a sleep during the first video?

This was also my first time on the road with Moncha Pro. I'm not sure what to think...

I'd be real careful if i were you

That is a very small distance to be scanning people with +2W of power

    I 2nd that!!!

Whats the distance between projector and audiance? 10 meters .

a 1W laser with a divergence of 1mRad is after 25 meters still 16x above MPE.

Green laser power should be approximately 500mw at aperture. Please take loss in to account because of the optics and mirrors that are moving continuously. No dots are used at all.
At last the divergence of the 1W 635nm module is way more than 1mRad. The used mirrors can't even pick up the whole 4x6mm beam.

Please criticize my projector, not me

I think we are trying to stop you getting into deep poo before it happens. Projector is nice, by the look of things, BUT your use of said projector needs YOU to re-asses your use of it whilst an audience is in front of it - be it using safe projection zones within your software used or simply NOT audience scanning at those powers/distances.
It looks cool doesn't it but you are risking your lively hood!

Kind words to you that you really need to listen too
