    GPL's apply to software.

If you're talking about photos / video then you're talking Copyright & Royalty Free and they're never copyright & royalty free unless sold to a stock photo warehouse and then licensed from there as royalty free or expressley loaded onto a web site by the copyright owner who states they can then be used for commercial purposes freely (note this is commercial usage) or where you have obtained the express permission of the owner of the copyright material in writing for your specific commercial purpose.

I kind of get the feeling that if these aren't yours, by GPL you mean you've done a Google Image search and pulled these down.

Guess what? Images searched and pulled from the internet are still covered by Copyright unless the owner has done any of the things I mentioned above to waive his right to Copyright for your usage. The fact they are on the internet doesn't make them Copyright free.

Interesting enough though, you actually appear to be DJ'ing in some of the videos with audience scanning that aren't yours.

As for the laserscope, I guess there's no hope for you. I kind of hope in a way you do do a show with the Laserscope, against everyone's advice and have something go wrong and blind people because at least that way you will face prison and be taken out of society for a long time thus protecting people's retinas in the long run.

As many others have said in this thread (albeit not always nicely although with provocation, granted) you simply don't want to listen to advice.

You talk about why should you listen to people on here as they're not the big laser show boys like one company you mention, well let me tell you something now about some shows some of the people on here have worked for:

    1. Trance Energy - how does 30,000 people indoors sound - the worlds largest indoor event: http://www.last.fm/event/818723+Trance+Energy+2009

    3. Awakenings - 20,000 people indoors

These are just some of the events that people on here are involved with (all images are stock images off Google and thus copyright to the image owners).

They're too modest to shout about them so I'm doing it for them.

However, I guess 1/4 million people at Global Gathering is small feed compared to your DJ parties though as can be clearly seen from your pictures.

Clearly you know more than anyone on here so their advice isn't worth anything compared to your knowledge.

Allan, man, i don't think you're as big a jerk as some of the guys in this forum might make you out to be, but i really do get what they're talking about.

The only contact i've ever had with you was chillin' talking about power gear in the chat, and you seem to know about and have access to some pretty big gear from the impressions you gave there, so yeah, not your ordinary geek off the street with a macbook and an arduino, right?

Other than that, i posted a reply to a query about flying your laserscope with a pretty logical answer, but since you already knew what you were going to do (i.e. fly it with a tripod rather than scaffolding) you argued it... that's what people are hating on you for it seems from this thread, asking a question looking for advice, and then saying "no, this is how i will do it, with a fuck-off-huge tripod stand" or whatever.

I've worked on some pretty big stadium shows, and i've only seen one laserscope. It was on the ground and fibre-coupled to a head that was maybe 10 pounds to fly. The company that supplied it still used scaffolding to do it even though the 'scope itself was on the ground. I can't remember the name of the company, but i think it was laseronics from washington state (the show was at the PNE Colosseum in vancouver, bc)

So, fly your laserscope with a scaffolding tower and some appropriate lifting gear (chain fall, forklift) 4 big-necked-bastard-bodyguards or whatever, or come up with an innovative solution that's rated for the job (and by that i mean not able to bring a high energy beam to someone's eye without catastrophic failure or some act of god business). That's how the pro's do it, and if you're bringing a high-peak-energy laser out to make people dance, you had better be a fucking pro.

So, for real, accept the advice given in the faith it's presented, ignore the haters because they're just being jerks (but might have a good point or 3 about safety once in a while) and be cool man, you've got a rad new toy and it'd be a shame to screw it up for yourself let alone anyone else.

Any chance you can get a screen-shot of that, like the ones posted?

    cheers...

Nice, cool-headed answer, m8... ...but herein 'lies' the problem... when someone claims to have been using lies - not just lying for the sake of 'bragging' / little 'white lies', but manipulating people WITH lies.. well what sort of basis for trust / belief in anything can you have, anymore??... he's 'elevated' himself to a 'place' where, really, no-one can help him but the 'law' - it's in their hands, now... friendly/helpful advice is a bust, cause everything will be questioned for 'validity'. ...Sad, he could have benefitted SO much from folks, here...

...and I'd post pics / links of some pretty-kickin results we've gleaned with 4x fiber-heads and 2x 5W table systems (+ a 16W WL...) but I'm sure 'DjGeckofingers' would have the pix on his site by the end of day...so, sorry...

And you / WL are right - maybe what we need to do is GET him a $25K gig, with 30K people - BOOK it, in his name, and let him DO it.... ...Heck, I'd even donate the 'TP'...

    Thanks for trying to help...

    ...*ahem*... Allen??

No Proof Yet, Gimme 2 Weeks, I'll post the service manuals in pdf (have hard copy) for the 600/630 Series if I get some help with it... Mostly Asking for what the Dye (RHG6 or Coumarin [if possible with 532 @ pump]) & COT Molarities is needed to Solute (Glycol / Alcohols) & Alignment Techniques for a Dye, and What the realworld efficiency is on one of these Dye Cells / Jets with a CW (19w) or Pulsed Pump at 40w @ 532nm ?...
