the laserscope system? thats waaaayyyy on the back burner... trying to get my big RGB finished up and do all the paperwork for it... and some other projects... most of the venues i will be doing a watt or two is usually more than enough... a laserscope would be a bit overkill

You called? I don't think Steve would be as intriuged with post apocalyptic socities and be stricken with MS doomed to a life plagued by his evil fuhrer loving right hand.

I can see Steve like the "A Beautiful Mind" character minus the dementia.

hah - no, I was asking about the 'pro' system that got installed in your planetarium (Co. name purposely left-OUT, ok?...) that was a rather 'shocking ball-drop' - did you ever get any 'resolution' to that? Cause if not,
I, (as a 'Pro') would file a complaint on your behalf with ILDA...that's just not good 'Professional' service, IMO... sometimes, even the 'pros' need 'a spanking'...

I dunno? Are we Jon? You tell me.. First man to move on wins!

Would you all rather I didn't delete a bunch of posts full of anger and misunderstanding that don't relate to the thread topic? I did it out of respect and regret, but if that somehow pisses everyone and their brother off too (and lets be sure to include people that I have always been cool with, or so I thought), you ALL have my sincerest apologies.

From what my new doctor says, the dementia is nearby. Working on doing something about it...

First thing will be getting out of this hick town with more sane horses then sane people.

As for this"I would have imagined you as more as a Dr. Strangelove kinda guy" , My Dad worked for a Defense contractor for years, and before that served in 3 branches of the service. (Army, got assigned to Air Force when it split off, and Marines) Now I work for a company that consults to one. I can assure you, although I did NOT understand this when I was younger, is that the last thing any military in the world wants to do is drop the bomb. (or bumb, if you watch "Allo "Allo) Yes, I'm the consumate Cold War type, but SAC's actual motto was "Peace is our Profession".

I think some day it will be revealed that military types on both sides of the cold war had a habit of picking up a discrete 'HF" channel and having a talk, despite the political rhetoric. HF, Remember HF? that old thing that doesn't require a satellite, just skill... Opps, I'm dating myself again...
My worries now are focused on politicians and religious types looking for a "Game Changing" move. That and the fact that I have to help cashiers count change when I buy something....

So now, DSLI JON, ELECTROFREAK, exchange phone numbers and talk, or I WILL get medievil on both your hinies, as only the Son of a Marine Corps NCO can... My dad was, at one time, Sergeant of the Guard at Eighth and I, in DC. He had something to do with choreographing the first evening parades. Read: That means I can yell, break you down, chew on you, and spit you back up a reformed person who WILL do what is right and obey... I used to have to practice yelling with glass marbles in my mouth. Coming back from two or four weeks vacation (ie Grand Canyon, Florida Salt Marshes, or Manhatten, I'd hear: "Son, We have returned from vacation, Secure and Inspect the house, Start the water system, Re-energize the breakers, Remove the lighting timers, and Relight the water heater pilot" Disneyland?, Disneyland is for wussies. Now you know why I am such a F%$#ed up mess.

I recently found out that Dad was in a unit that provided classified navigation systems and survey aircraft in the Norpac region in the early 50s.. If you know your history, that should ring a bell... Think RB-29 and Ruskie airspace. He NEVER talked about it...

Very few people have ever seen my dark side, I keep it well hidden, and I can make Drs. Evil (the movie one) and No, and Goldfinger, look like Bill Cosby, John Wayne, and Mother Teresa.

"There will BE NO MORE fighting in the War Room", Steve now returns to getting a team of Engineers focused on task, which is like herding cats.

I cant wait till their warranty runs out

Excellent excellent post. Thanks for helping 'tip the fulcrum' back to where it belongs...

Me too. You see, (and I am going out on a 'limb', here...) Brian (aka "laserist") is one of the people, upon whos' backs WE (and, I include myself in this 'we', even-with 18+ years working with lasers...) are ALL standing, in SOME-way, shape or form...

Brian - like mixedgas, Laserman532, LaserWizard, Robert Hess, William Benner, Casey Stack, Greg Makhov (and several others) are people who - as Pat so eloquently put-it one-time - "...were the guys peeling-back the foreskins of technology.." - and are largely responsible - in at LEAST some way - for ALL - ALL we have to 'play with', here, INCLUDING, solid-state, because even though some, were purely 'ion / analog Gods', the physics / electronic-principles they worked on / designs they tested / proposed / explored - or even created - in SOME way, have SOME trickle-down benefit to how EASY and accessible things are today, for 'laserists'.

And like many 'great men', these guys are usually just too HUMBLE to 'let-on' what thier true accomplishments - in laser HISTORY - really, are... and so, to a 'n00b', who thinks 'all ya gotta do is drop $2-3 grand on an RGBV rig and and FB3 and - whammo - you're a " laserist " - or - 'all ya gotta do is BUY a retired medical laser off eBay, hack some wires together and glue-on some galvos, and - whammo - you're a " lasershow Co. " - episodes like we have seen in other threads, where those with the MOST experience on this Forum (and, in some-cases, the entire INDUSTRY...) get 'accused' of being 'selfish' by not pouring-out all the 'trade-secrets' from a bottle, on-demand - like it's frigging 'PPV' or something - quickly cause 'parables', rich with 'lessons-learned', from the YEARS of experience, lived-thru, to 'well-up' and get posted, as 'passionate' as they may-be.

So yeah, Andrew - THANK YOU for reminding folks that we (myself, included...) should 'RESPECT OUR ELDERS', and of just how valuable they really all are. And while I am 'on my knees', here THANK YOU to Brian, Steve, Pat, Tim, Bill, Greg, Robert, et. al. for all the TIME and INvaluable knowledge and help you freely offer around here, and for 'putting-up' with the 'Plateau I's and IIs', here... (myself, included...)

    peace-out...
    j
I need to clear something up here. I was more of a water carrier and at best steward in the history of Laser Images. I like to think I was a competent laserist, and maybe I helped keep things running during some of the tougher times, but I don't think my shoulders are the ones helping others survey new vistas…

I appreciate the request Steve, but honestly this whole thing has soured me on PL, some (NOT ALL just to be clear) of the people here (particularly the two-faced ones that I've never so much as said a bad word to OR about who decided it would be a good idea to kick me while I was down) and the whole laser hobby in general. I'll be the first to admit my errors, but I'm not responsible for the other people here who really showed me their true colors. There's no excuse for ganging up on someone, I don't care what the person's twisted logic tells them. It's cowardly to say the least. If these kinds of people are the folks I'll be expected to deal with regularly by remaining active, then I REALLY need to rethink my hobby interests which is what I've been doing since yesterday. Maybe I'll get over it sometime, who knows.

I'm awaiting more people's unwanted input here! If I've ever been cool to you or if I've never said anything bad about you, now's your chance to stab me in the back!
