Hey Adam, what about electrical power in that gymnasium? Are there enough 110V circuits to handle a LEM? (figure a minimum of 4, and you'd prefer 6 or more 20-amp circuits)

Is there any 220 available? If so, you could hook up a remote distribution panel like we do for SELEM.

How about 3 phase power or water for cooling? (Maybe in a wiring closet out in the hallway?) Just asking...

The only real problem I see is that beautiful wooden floor. Gonna need to be very careful not to scratch that! But otherwise, the price seems reasonable for such a large space. Will they let you run late into the evening, or do they shut the doors at 9 PM? $125 a day is pretty decent if you can run from 9 AM until midnight or later!

I can't say right now if I'll be able to make it to this or not. It's a hell of a drive for me, and driving is the only way I'd do it. (No other way to bring all my equipment.) I'll monitor your progress though, and let you know as we get closer if there's any way I can swing this...

This is all pretty exciting.. Love the venue ideas EVIL. October would be a great time for a LEM.

Late August would definitely not work. If you guys want to rush we could go for late July,,,, maybe? Another issue to consider is this gym does not have air conditioning. I was just in there a few minutes ago and it was fine, they say it gets HOT in there around July though. October would keep us from sweating our balls off.

    Yeah, that's not happening.

Just checked on power. there are plenty of outlets around the gym as well as the main electrical room in the corner. I don't think they'd allow us to run any water cooled ion's anyway because of water concerns with their floor.

They are a little concerned about the floor so we would have to wear gym shoes and be careful not to drop anything. They also have some folding tables we can use.

Yeah, the price is $125 a day along with $15 an hour after hours to pay for a staff member to be on site.

You MUST come Adam!!! What month would work for you?

I most definitely agree in a waver. After I heard of the fiasco with SELEM last year, this is a must to protect everyone's asses. I'll have my dad draw something up. He's a contractual master.

Great! Looks like October will be the best choice. I'm going to shoot for that unless there are any major complaints.

The YMCA is not finalized. I still need to get final approval from one other person and he won't be in until Tuesday. I will keep you all apprised.
    Thanks!

Cool. And yeah, the no argon provision isn't a big deal really - especially with the recent 445 nm discoveries.

I'd be *very* concerned about that floor. It would be quite easy to damage it. Need to be extra careful.

    What constitutes "after hours"?

Mid to late October is probably my best shot. But I won't know for certain until we get a lot closer. Really burning up a lot of vacation time this year to do SELEM and the ILDA cruise, so I'll have to see what's left.
I'll have my dad draw something up. He's a contractual master.
Shoot me a PM and we can work together on this. I have some information from my conversations with Casey that I'd like to incorporate into my waiver. Maybe we can work up a master waiver that can be used for both (and possibly future) events.

Unfortunately Joe the administrator did not have discussions about our LEM on his agenda today so we will have to wait until next Monday for a final answer. Sorry guys...

Ah, It ain't not thing but a chicken wing!

    Thanks though.

Okay, proposed date.... How does October 9th and possibly 10th sound? What's good about this date is Lake Geneva's annual Octoberfest will be held on these dates. The streets are packed with craft fares, live bands, art and other junk going on. Perfect for all of you guys that plan on bringing your better half. Another great feature is all this is walking distance from the YMCA which means the ladies won't need to struggle with parking or closed off streets.

Let me know what you guys think.
