There are a few collimator lens options and it really depends how much you want to spend vs how good & low loss beam you want.. I would stick to the shorter focal length ones though. The stock Casio lenses are not aspheric and pretty useless for good quality collimation, which is a real shame given there's buckets of them floating around

The good thing with anamorphic prisms is the variable magnification means they will work with pretty much any collimator out there.

One prism may get it corrected to a degree, but I'm pretty sure the other one is needed to get the collimation back on track as well as parallel

I would suggest the collimator from Mccarrot. I have seen it in real live with a prism pair in front of it and the result was close to a 1mrad beam.

a few months we had to spend a small fortune on a 1 watt blue 445. I find it amazing that when it comes spending some money on good optics nowadays members are still using lenses like the aixiz. If you want the best quality beam with good divergence you have the spend a little money on good optics. Start with buying a good collimator and a good set of prism and the result will be a top quality beam.

with 1w 445 available in one diode to us we can afford to lose a little power using an aixiz lens @ 5 euros and with prisms get a perfecly usable beam or spend 60euros plus tax,for the mccarrot option, i know which one i will take, most now cant afford the red and green to go with these diodes so iam ok with a bit of power loss

Also, if the new aixiz lens in quoting an improvement of 15%, that would give me the power from a thor lens, so maybe these aixiz lenses wont be such a bad option

It's not about the loss, its about the beam profile...
