    Default polarizing for 3d

I have scene it mentioned but could someone explain how you polarize your projected lightshow, to view it 3d?

It can be done three, maybe four ways.

One scan head and a active polarization flipper. (LCD or EO)

One scan head and LCD glasses.

Both of the above depend on what generation of Pangolin card you have, or if you have DSP with the Pol output.
Pangolin QM32s had x Prime and a TTL flip output,

    Two scan heads.

    Anaglyph, which is red/blue.

I have seen graphics using seen all FOUR listed methods used.

    Its fantastic

Orientation is dependent on what glasses you use. +45 -45 is a PITA if your doing full color.

With laser its easier to do 0, +90 as your orientations.

Anaglyph is not worth the effort, but it works using carefully constructed stills.

There is also Chromadepth, but it is not really stereo. Without a yellow or orange line, Chromadepth is not complete.

I have some Linos EO Rotator Cells for sale if you want to do it the best way.

I might still have some anaglyph frames.

If you have the right recolored frame set, you'll find that you already have at least one true 3D show in the stock Pangolin Demo shows.
Its been recolored as a non stereo show, but I found a hard disk when I bought some used gear that has the 3D set.

Ideally i'd like to do this not using a computer, playing back from HD24. What DSP would be needed?

    Lasergraph DSP, That DSP.

Give me a call this evening and we'll talk about how to do this.

    RE "Psst.."

Well. I wasnt going to tell the whole forum about that "Redacted" piece of funky "cubical with seriously twisted light" hardware we bought from CO*I, Jon...

I see you got it working, kudos.. Too bad it needs a whitelight ion to drive it. Oh wait, on a dome, that is far better then anything short of 5 parallel OPSLs.

Too bad the leading purveyer of laser software has a chief cheese that does not care for 3D, and does not think its effective. (Thats a shot across the bows...)

Lol, well the base / tableware, galvos / amps and WL have gone-on to live exciting new second-lives in the werld of lasering, somewhere...

..The controller, however, still sits in the NY-shop, atop a small scale-model of Mt. Olympus, surrounded by a fog-bank and simulated lightning-bolts from an old I90-starter ...with Radio-Shack micro-bots feeding it grapes.. ..I'd love to RE-it, someday, but... for now, it just sits on the shrine, looking as beautifully well-engineered as-ever... Ya wanna take a crack at it?

PS - Thanks for the 'kudos', but that pic is not my werk - that's aaall-LI genius... Just posting to make the 'point' that layering 3D on-top of lumia is extra-bitchin', and worth the effort...

Yeah, I have a matched pair of EMS-3080. I'dd love to try out the tiny but complex optical array of broadband twisted mystery and the rack of Analog Knobbish Dual Geocorrection Goodness.

I have the special colored frameset for the "Octogon", too bad LFI left out Bruce Lee in their possible tribute to that karate scene.

The folks who just have the baby Pango FB3s are setting there scratching their heads and thinking... "What you talkin bout, Willis?"

I still have the 500 pairs of the massive gray 3D Goggles that would only look good on Sir Elton John..

Sadly no, because the majority of 'folks who just have the baby Pango FB3s' haven't the foggiest-idea of where that came-from / what it means / why it's funny..

..just like if I had-said (..about 3D over the top of lumia..)...'Yeah, maaan.. in fact, it's 'Dyyy-no-mite!!'

RE: Controller, etc - cool, perhaps we can arrange a 'meet' sometime when I'm over there (..hopefully, soon..) working on checking-out a certain venue, and also starting on an install, at another Easterly-location... Then you can (eventually..) give Sir John a good-taste of proper 3D mech n' tech..

..In fact, uh, back to Sir John's thread...

Why, Jon, you are so behind the times. You do know the hottest thing is a new cable channel called "Antenna TV" and runs 24-7 reruns of 60s, 70s' and 80s TV shows? Its actually better then four channels of CSI every weekend. I'm sure the youngins are loving Redd FoXX on "Sanford and Son", Weezy on "Good Times". I cant wait for them to get McHales Navy... Yep, Black and White TV is back. A whole new generation of people are learning from a talking white Stalliion named Mr, Ed.
Its getting good ratings round here, because its not written for four year olds.No blasphemy. very little sex, no cocaine you can't afford , the cowboys wear white hats, and the good guys always win. Plenty of "Danger, Will Robinson" too.
