I probably shouldn't add anything else that bumps the thread but, I will certainly admit to thinking you (RGB Laser Verkoop) were a full fledged manufacturer. I thought you were affilitated with RGB Lasersystems quite honestly. And yes, a quality 9 watt RGB for 7,000 euro would in fact, be a very sweet deal if I could actually use it in the US!

(I'd have bought it by now. )

P.S. - everyone has some valid points and, some interesting thoughts on it that I didn't necessarily consider.

Edit... after some more review... uhm, how many "hobbiests" have their own sales/service website as part of their signature if you're not commercial Joost?

I think we've covered that here and elsewhere, including in the very post you partially quoted...

I mean, he is not sharing pics for fun, its strictly to gather intersest parties, in purchasing his products.
Carlos was just continuing the previous discussion about the lack of contribution from sellers like Joost.

To me, there's a big difference between actively participating contributing hobbyists selling to each other and non-contributing semi-pros selling for profit and here's the important bit I think some of us have a real issue with...

New members joining the forum and immediately (and then repeatedly) selling complete projectors _for profit_ with _no financial contribution to the costs of running this forum_.

I think our views as to why many feel this behaviour demonstrates poor etiquette are clear, it then just comes down to whether you share the view or not. We're all entitled to our own views, so whilst I hope my view is shared and the reasons are understood, feel free to disagree.

Yep certainly came across that way. With the sig, and pretty much every post being a review of his own kit with prices, it's not an unreasonable assessment.

I personally think an honour system is better,I choose not to list my company/services on this forum as when I get through the boxes of Spectra and Coherent parts and make them available to members it's not going to be to turn a profit it will be to help other like minded people keep things alive and putting smiles on peoples faces.Let's not be naive though everyone needs money (the route of all evil) Blatant marketing should (and is) dealt with but surely each member should be judged on merit otherwise where will it stop? Group buys? Cheap scanners? There are quite a few retailers on here and I've seen them poo poo others in underhanded ways in the past because they have been undercut on equipment, that's life really.

Question Question on your 9 Watt RGB Projector

    Hello -

We have a Client (in Thailand, NOT the US.. asking about 'best price possible' on your 9 Watt RGB Projector.. The one as-seen in this thread: http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...-MY-NEW-9w-rgb or, one nearly-identical.. they just want very, very bright, and graphics-capable, Like 'DT-40-level' or better, I don't think they can 'afford' Cambridge 6215s... something in 'the middle'..

Also, 'delivery time'.. best it go direct to Thailand, but, we will have some very-specific requests of-you, pre-shipping... We can discuss, first, the best-possible price and delivery-time.. But I am posting, here, because you have PM's turned-off, and we also get 'bounce backs' from your website email, so...

    Please let me know, Thanks

(..and I believe Post #42 'validates' that I did not 'misunderstand' the pricing-implication.. ya?) ..also,

..is, (last I checked), 8.27 Watts, not 9... so, which is it? 9W's for 7K Euro? ..Or, 8.27W's for 7950 Euro? I'm confused..

..I mean, I'm not trying to 'mess with you', Joost, but I'm sure you see the conundrum, yes? Obviously, I cannot sell a "9 Watt RGB" to a Client, and then have it show-up, doing 8.27W...or less... especially, when I can do-nothing to possibly 'improve' that, before it 'lands'.. (..and, PS - yes, they 'know what they're doing'...)

How about this - You offered "9 Watts for 7K Euro" (..I'm not about to go-off a higher-quoted price for less Watts... ) - that's about 778 Euro per Watt.. I would only ever 'present' this to my Client as a *7* Watt, (no, not-even an '8'.. ) and if we say, 778 Euro x the 8 Watts it's (really) producing, that's ~ 6225 Euro, and we can discuss shipping... can I present that to our Client?

I'd be happy to 'discuss' this in a PM... buuut, I can't...

    Thanks!

PS - seeing your 'demo-room', there?? - I think you are the most well-kitted 'hobbiest' this-side of the Milky Way..
