    Default Laserscope Orion

Continuing with the clear out, this Laserscope Orion was uncovered, and needs to urgently find a new home.

It's a 1995 model (recent for a LSCP), unconverted, in full working order - really is in great condition.
Comes fitted with a 32A Ceeform plug, and is single phase, pulls 20A max.

It would make a great conversion project for those who know what is required to do a decent + safe conversion + operation (no, not the medical kind).

The unit powers up and passes the self-test / warm-up procedure with no fault codes. Multo-multo-grandé green is generated inside.
No key is included, but it takes 30 seconds to bypass; not that you will need to run it with the motherboard when converted.

These Orions have the same ALE lamp power supply, KTP, Q-switch and lamp as the bigger brother 800 series; the only major difference is the cooling pack is smaller, so smaller duty cycles are recommended at high currents.

I will also include some literature I've acquired over the years to help with a conversion.

This item needs collecting fairly soon; it will not be stored for many weeks / months.

The usual "no-numpty" policy applies; anyone wishing to buy this for "shootin teh mad beemz into tha crowdz" need not apply.
Anyone who is serious about converting this: A high OD (5-7) pair of safety goggles for 532+1064 is mandatory before you even considering plugging it in / popping the lid.

Alternatively, a great source of spares for any LSCP owner.

    Asking price: £1,000

    Cheers,
    Dan

    No takers?
Aww... I will consider any sensible offer; this needs to be shifted in the next week or two.

Well, you're closer than I am.

If it's a road trip you're planning between you... have one each! There's another fully converted, 3-split-flight-case "big scope" that will be for sale soon.

Quietly calculates the likely trans-atlantic shipping costs for a laserscope.

    YIKES!

Sorry Daniel, but I'll have to pass. I'm sure it's in tip-top shape, but it would cost almost as much to get it here as it would for me to buy it from you.

    No problem
I've had quotes from USA->UK for LSCP's in the past circa $300-400 from memory.

That's actually not bad! (Or as bad as I thought.) I paid nearly $850 to get a little Kvant Spectrum 1.6 sent to me from Norway! It's just a little car battery sized thing!!

$400 is quite reasonable. I was thinking more along the lines of $900 to $1,000.

Still, even if shipping was free I'd have to pass. (Still paying for Marie's new insulin pump!) But I'm sure someone will give it a nice new home soon.
