There was an Art Fair here in St. Louis today and I ran across an Artist that among other things employs a 17th century technique that apparently allows her to create bubbles in the glass she's working where and how big she wants. I'm going to pursue getting her to do stuff for Laser Shows. Below is a little sample:

Wow, that sounds like it could be interesting. I'd be interested to see what effects twisting and layering the bubble makes.

Brian, were you able to experiment with any of that art glass? I am curious to know how it looks or if it works well.

..only, like, YESTERDAY!!! Wow, can just imagine that lil goodie with the 'DreamFX' technique.. (..for the others, THIS is, ie: one example of what bubbles / imperfections 'do'.. )

..Would be a hoot if we could get Richard G. to come here / teach some classes..

Nice effect Jon. Care to elaborate? I'm interested.

P.S. - Bummed that St. Louis Laserium is over. Maybe a trip to the West coast is in order. How are things going at Chabot?

Keith, if you're not confident at cutting the glass into circles, send it to me as squares and i'll grind it into nice circles for you. I'll be bringing some nice lumia discs to the UKLEM that i've ground down, so you can see if it'll work for you.

I'd have to make a small charge to cover costs, but it won't break the bank.

    Cheers

    Jem
