worn off paint on laser case. what can you do?

I have some areas on my aluminum laser projector case where the paint has partly worn off and on some edges it has completely worn off.
What can you do in this situations? ive never painted metal surfaces before. can i paint just those areas? is it a good idea?

Any paint you apply will probably wear pretty fast, as it was probably anodized or powder coated from the factory. I would just use a black sharpy to touch it up.

If it's REALLY bugging you, sharpie works ok. Depending on how much and WHERE the WEAR is, black gaff tape is a decent [replaceable] patch that will offer some degree of future wear protection. Downside: it gets cruddy, messed up, crumpled, and crunched easily. If you use cheap stuff, it leaves a sticky [but otherwise protective ] residue.

Can you post a picture of it? Painting metal isn't hard; just clean, sand, re-clean, prime, mask and spray.

And, the 'silver-paint' markers, too.. Priceless for custom-marking on black-pjs.. 'Sharpies' are for writing 'what kind of burrito' you just ordered on it's foil wrapper... or, ya know.. penning indelible-obscenities on the 'glued-to-your-sofa-drunk' friend's forehead.. ..not skin-repairs on your $X-thousand dollar pj...

Very targeted bullying . Jk although a sharpie or a "paint pen" would probably be less work the best results are complete reprinting of that panel or the whole unit
