Excellent! Is anyone up for putting together an order for 50?

Also, would anyone be interested in cubes centered around 473nm? Bridge has confirmed that these are available at the same price! A nice RGB upgrade would be to combine the existing blue with another of the same sort of power rather than replacing it with one that's twice the power! An RGB laser with an unusually bright blue beam would be novelty! Adding more green would be easy, although getting more red after two have already been combined with a PBS could be a problem?!

If this is a stupid idea i'm sure you will all jump on me soon enough!

Sorry, I have not yet introduced myself on the forum! I am a newbie here and have been messing around with lasers for a couple of years.

    Cheers, Dan.

Welcome to this forum argeebee and enjoy your stay while you're here . Just remember that I only tested the PBS cube at 633nm not 660nm. I'll test it with a 660nm laser diode as soon as I can and post the result here. If I'm satisfied with the result, I would be interested in a couple more.

Many thanks. It's funny but you must be the other person Bill was talking about when he said that he tuned and modified another guy's DT-40s & FB3 recently. Mine is being shipped from them today, so I cannot wait! I was very interested to read your post about the earthing problem. I'll let you know how I get on with mine, although it won't be for a few days as i will be away next week.

You're more than welcome mate .

Yeah I guess, if he was only tuning one DT-40 Pro last week, then it's definitely mine . My grounding issue is not actually that severe. Luckily there's a quick and dirty fix to get rid of it. However, I'm very curious as to what actually causing it to exist and since I'm a perfectionist, I want to wire them up properly as Bill suggested. Hopefully I'll find out the cause of my problem soon. Good luck with yours. Do let us know with your progress. So we can compare to each other since we have the same setup as well . You won't regret your purchase for sure and you're gonna have heaps of fun with them. I know I am .

    Cheers mate,

    Victor.

An update on the PBS cube from Bridge. I have tested it with 660nm laser diode at 10mW, 50mW and 100mW. On average I get around 97% of reflection efficiency and 96% of transmission efficiency at 90°. For $30 a piece I think it's quite a bargain. I can live with <5% loss. Group buy anyone ? By the way this PBS is centered at 633nm and 15mm x 15mm x 15mm in size, which is quite huge and perfect for red laser with fat beam diameter. I hope this helps. If you guys have any questions, just ask away .

Lots of people seem to want them but we need 50+ for a group order. Why don't we all say how many we want (will definitely buy and not back out last minute) and hopefully it will be enough. If we don't get much of a response we could start a new thread.

    Right I'll start -

633nm - 3 but more if we need to make up the numbers a bit

473nm - 3 again but more if needs be.

Bridge told me they are $37.50 but Victor said he paid $30 (from Bridge). I would much prefer $30 and I'm sure we can negotiate a bit once we get the numbers up.

They are 15mm as shown in the picture attached and centered at 633nm. However, based on my results they turned out to be quite good at 660nm. Best of all, they cost only at a fraction of the ones from Edmund Optics or Melles Griot. Perfect for DIYers on a budget .

argeebee: I think it's a good idea to make a new post at group buy section so we could get more attention and hopefully reach that magic number faster. You could also quote my findings to get people who are interested up to speed.

Personally I would be interested in a few more. Probably a couple of 633nm and one 473nm. Definitely one of each at the very least.
