suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

You know things are off to a slow start when the guy who was the FIRST to register for SELEM last year doesn't actually sign up until less than 2 weeks before the early registration cut-off.

I get it, people have been busy, and there's just a lot going on everywhere right now.

But we're starting to get close now, so hopefully things will be picking up in the coming weeks.

I'm in ofc!! Can't wait to see you all!

In an unexpectedly exciting development this last month, I have just returned from a 3100 mile cross country road trip adventure with my laser white whale in the back of a sprinter van.....and it meets all definitions of that phrase! The monster I've been seeking for decades, but also white and the size of a fuckin whale - I finally acquired a copper vapor laser! If I can figure out transport logistics I would love to bring it with me. The crate is just under 8 feet long and 860lbs

Hells Yeah! Another Copper Vapor Laser!!!!!!

I saw my first CVL actually lasing at the UKLEM in March of this year (thanks to Dan Briggs for bringing that monster to the event!), and now I might get a chance to see a second one running in the same year? How cool is that?

We've had two CVLs at FLEMs in past years, but we never got either one of them running. The first time we knew we didn't have the power to run it, so it was more of a display piece, but the second time we actually tried very hard to get the thing to lase... Alas, it was not to be. (We later learned that a crucial sensor inside the unit had failed, and without any documentation it was going to take a lot of effort to reverse-engineer a solution, so Paul (clandestiny) decided to scrap the unit instead.)

Would be awesome if we can get this thing running at SELEM, Wil! As for transport, I'm sure we can work something out.
